What do you think he should be doing now? Hmmm... I wonder...
Let's do a reality show where 20 women compete for his affections... NO!
Leak a sex tape to jumpstart his career... NO!
Make expensive booty videos that have nothing to do with the song... NO!
Smoke crack(sorry Whitney)... NO!
Get arrested for driving under the influence and take a wretched mugshot... NO!
Marry the hottest chick in da game(yeah right Jay-Z)... NO!
Sign a record deal that gives him 20 cents a CD... NO!
Beat the shit out of Rihanna... NO!
Jump on the "Michael Jackson died so my career could live celebrity bandwagon"... NO!
Dance around in his underwear in a Youtube dance challenge... NO!
Have a bunch of little boys sleep over at his house... NO!
Keep making music for 30 years and maintain your personal/professional integrity despite having fans who think you're a complete idiot for not doing exactly what they want, when they want... YEAH!!!
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Don't get it twisted. He fucks up a lot and I don't love every album but I don't believe he thinks he's putting out crappy music for us to listen to. He has too much respect for music to do that. Also who would you like him to emulate that's out now? Be careful with that answer because 80% of the artists that get shoved at you today are train wrecks and studio engineered singers.

Prince is employing drum machines and auto-tune in his latest project so apparently studio engineering works for him. neutral

Musically, I don't want him to emulate anyone. I think there are artists who have better websites that he could learn something from.

Naw, Prince is Prince for better or worse.
Remember when Bart kept swooning over Trent Reznor and his fan friendly ways..
Heres how that went.

Trent Reznor Gives Up On Twitter, Blames It On “Unattractive Plump Females”

Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor has been doing some amazing things over the last few years, experimenting with new media and doing more than any other major musician to forge a new model for using the Internet to interact directly with his fans.
Here’s a few examples:
Reznor has released several albums as free downloads, using a Creative Commons license.
Reznor’s Nine Inch Nails site offers a variety of free NIN podcasts
He’s reinvented the concert video, filming shows with cheap HD cameras and uploading the footage YouTube
He’s embraced Twitter, quickly amassing over six hundred thousand followers.
Now, though, Reznor says he’s giving up on social networks because of a seemingly endless stream of negativity from anonymous members:
I will be tuning out of the social networking sites, because at the end of the day it’s now doing more harm than good in the bigger picture and the experiment seems to have yielded a result.
Idiots rule.

By closing the door on Twitter and social networks, Reznor’s cutting off a direct channel to hundreds of thousands of Nine Inch Nails fans.
And, in a move that he may regret, he blames his decision on “unattractive plump females who publicly fantasize about having sex with guys in bands” and then goes on to explain how they can best slit their wrists.
Reznor’s Twitter experiment has crashed and burned.
Do you think having 600,000 followers is inherently unmanageable? Or could Reznor do something different on Twitter to maintain a direct relationship with his fans but avoid the trolls?

Now imagine if Trent had the amount of crazies that Prince has.
Keeping us fans at bay is ALWAYS the best policy.

Trent still makes himself available to us and has even said he would be returning to Twitter eventually. Plus, Trent is accessible on his website. If there is something on his mind he wants us to know about, he posts it.

Same as Bowie was doing. Same as other artists who want a direct connection with their fans.

And lets not kid ourselves, Trents "fan friendly ways" is just marketing, a good way to get his product to consumers, but its also the reality for a lot of artists, such as Wendy & Lisa to promote themselves when there is no record company to do this for them.
Prince doesn’t seem to need or want this, for better or worse.
To me, Prince just needs to be kosher in his business practices, nothing more, nothing less.

1. From Michael Jackson: Be YouTube friendly for a change.

If Prince Roger Nelson were to died tomorrow, how in the hell will his fans AND music fans in general of every surviving generation are suppose to remember him if he doesn't allow YouTube members AND/OR The WB Music Group to post his music videos?!? Better yet, why can't Prince create his own YT account and post the videos himself?!?

2. From Gene Simmons: Get your own Reality TV show.

THIS idea will definitely make Prince more popular! And it would be interesting to see how Prince interact with people in real life situations within and outside of the music industry.

3. From Timbaland: Re-discover the passion of using synths.

The James Brown/Earth Wind & Fire-inspired horn section is really getting overused. And beside, THIS is the 21st century!!! Life after the year 1999 (pun intended) is suppose to be about futuristic sounds. Synths are THE only instruments on the earth that can be used to do that. Use them!

I disagree with #1, agree with everything else though.

How so?

I would have been pissed, too if I were Trent reading what fans were saying. He's human and had a knee jerk reaction. I believe Trent did not want to punish all his fans for the actions of a few.

Trent remembered who his bread and butter was.

He then called Gene Simons of KISS a clown, and an artist who he would be ashamed to be. Gene may be a clown , but you shouldn’t disrespect a more successful fellow artist like Gene unless you are a B-list artist trolling for attention yourself.
I like Trent’s music too, but c'mon does someone NEED attention to stay in the public spotlight or what?
Even with those not so cool hissy fits, Trent barley scored a blip in the national spotlight, and was basically ignored by the national media.

If Prince would have said those things it would have seriously blown in his face.

Anyway at 50 Prince isn’t going to change, especially not until his fortunes change dramatically, then he would be hitting the twitter, myspace, kissing your asses and the whole nine yards.
