Contrary to what Mike Jackson fans think Mike had his stinkers just like all artist.
I don’t P was laughing at Mike’s death and culturally African-Americans are pretty respectful about funeral and deaths.

I wasn't saying P was laughing about MJ's passing. I was saying they didn't have ANY relation, and at some points over the last 20 years, he may even have laughed about MJ.

Of course he could've said something, just like he could've said something about any other celebrity passing, and just like any other artist could say something about MJ - or not. The point is: Why the heck do people EXPECT P to "say something"? Prince hasn't got anything to do with MJ, except for the fact that both had their biggest time in the 80s and were labelled "megastars". That's it, period. No other relation, no friendship, no close contact, nothing. And the mere fact that some people worship both musicians doesn't make them more "related"! And mixing up wishes and reality doesn't make something more "real" either.

And why should "African-Americans" be more respectful about the topic than others? That's even more BS in my opinion.

Can we get back to topic now?

I will say that some of the comments by the media and on a lot of blogs about Mike's funeral were disrespecful and you did not see or hear that sort of crap from TV One or any of the black blogs.

The setlist is KILLER! I wish I could hear those songs cause with that band, they can do pretty much anything. I hope that this finds its way out to us in the future. I am hopeful that we'll get something sooner or later.

What a night in Montreux !! Still in awe...

My personal highlights were:

- realizing that this E-piano-intro from Renato leads into When I lay my hands on U, a thrilling, magical moment just at the beginning. I've never expected to hear this song ever live, and I did not mind at all to hear it again about 5h later
- When the lights go down, Willing and able, I love U but I don't trust U anymore and Empty Room with a wonderful guitar solo
- All the critics love U in Montreux/Housequake...what an energetic funk-jam
- Prince sitting down on an amplifier(?)box a few meters in front of me during In a large room and playing kind of question and answer with Renato and the band on his guitar with CLOSED EYES* and a facial expression full of passion, a moment I 'll never forget in my life !!
(*maybe he got just tired of permanent looking into cellphone-and other cameras, which became annoying for me too, blocking a bit of the little sight to the stage I had most of the time)
- and yes, Purple Rain, like someone wrote already, performed like he's played it for the first time !!

The band was ONA fantastic level, as were the sound, stage-deco and the lightning. Just Rhonda a bit out of sight

I got the impression that Prince needs to do his "thing" on stage in front of his fans for the sake of his soul, like we need oxgene to breathe for our bodies, and I wonder why he is doing so few concerts in the last years (ok, 21nights was an eyception) If I could afford it ( and I think this is the real problem with our purple man's gigs: the money) and had the chance, I'd love to be at a Prince-show every week !!! Miss him already...

PS: Greetings to Kim from L.A. and the nice couple from Frankfurt (my name-brain has again left me) I've been queueing with to get tix at noon. Hope U enjoyed the shows as much as I did
