If you were Prince's wardrobe designer.....

And he gave you complete control to design what YOU want him to wear.. What would his next style be or look like?

After hearing Lotus Flow3r, id like to seem black jeans with some black boots with silver tips. Maybe a custom tee with cut off sleeves. Messy longer hair, and full beard again. Just a complete rocker look! (with the exception of high heels of course)

I'd put him in designer jeans, something faded, but not torn. A hot silk shirt, a little long on him, but not like a blouse. Crisp white, and a couple of Mossimo leather wrist cuffs. Just something organic and leathery with a snap.

Actually something like that one Rolling Stone cover a couple of years ago, the red and white polka dot shirt, but with jeans. Like a dressup/dressdown sorta thing.

And NO SHOULDER PADS.

I'd actually like to see him in a Circus MC's uniform of sorts, kinda like MJ had on for his last photo session with Ebony a few years ago.

I'd also like to see him in something like The Jacksons wore for the Victory album.

^^ eek I would never want Prince to dress like Michael Jackson^^

That look works for Michael and he looks like a model there, but the style is kind of wrong for Prince. I already dealt with Prince looking like the Joker in Batdance, last thing I need is him to look like Willy Wonka. Michael looks fashion forward there, Prince would just look like he's ready to make candies,

Now if I could dress Princey. Prince has that gorgeous gold coloring to his skin, so to play off of that, I'd put him in something offwhite. Not stark white, but with a little warmth to it. I'm tires of suits and tunics and shit, so I'd kind of do a throw back to that one shoulder jumpsuit he wore on the Nde tour, but instead of it just being plain, I'd like to make it with a print, perhaps Prince's symbol in gold and green jewels.(To compliment the brownish green color of his eyes) And then I'd pair it with some matching heels with jewels all over the heels. biggrin Don't forget that pimp cane!

Notice I didn't bother to put a shirt on him. Show some sexy skin Princey!

(I design pageant clothing as a hobby, this was a cakewalk for me)

Well, first...I would make sure that his blacks match at all times. nod

And there would be no socks with sandals. no no no!

I'd put him in things that are a tad more body conscious. Not tight, mind you - but no more wide-legged pants and big tunics. And I would burn those stretch pants. disbelief

He has a nice physique for a man his age. If he would just wear things that fit him through the shoulders, it'd be a big improvement. Too often, he ends up looking like he's wearing someone else's suit. And I'd scale back his collars a tad. I mean...I know that's his signature, so I wouldn't do away with them completely. But sometimes they come off a little ridiculous.

I like his flamboyant taste - so I wouldn't want to take him too conservative. He just needs a little fine tuning here and there. shrug

I really like Prince's 3/4 Jacket look...I love how Prince can make his suits half one color and half another. I think that's cool. It's a good look 4 Prince too. cool

Nice topic

I would want to come up with a style with him, and I would hand sew it all, maybe even some leopard speedoz like he used to have and bring back the thigh highs, and then I would make myself a matching ladies version ,

NONSENSE

There's a picture in the Lovesexy tour program where Prince has on a burgandy, paisley top. I like that. I also like the Sign O' the Times robes, metallic colors work well. But definitely back to the paisley look.

Personally I never liked when he changed up the look to quickly and to drastically, even though I loved all the Purple Rain - Lovesexy looks equally
I also like a lot of the Rave look, not the era, just a lot of the look
and the looks matched him and the music

I big on the ruffled shirts, it just stands out and says "Prince"

I like the PR-Lovesexy ruffled shirts, the Jam of the Year ruffled shirts and the ones he wore on the 02 tour

to this day I still like the buttons on the side of the pants
Silks Paisley Leather, I love the lounge look of Parade and the Family

I would do some combination of those eras PR-Lovesexy Jam of the Year & Rave
Use some of the looks for the band whoever they maybe, I would love to see Rhonda in something like the Dirty Mind look but with a ruffled shirt, put some ruffles and bottons on the band members, get rid of all those cool but already established outside of Prince band members:Maceo get some Minneapolis musicians singers(I know...Bria is from Minneapolis)

I think sometimes trying to do something new all the times looks to strained
I think Prince needs this look back, like he needs his sound back

I had been thinking about starting a thread like this for MONTHS now.

I never did because I couldn't think of what I wanted to see him wear, just what I didn't want to see him wear anymore (outfits that were poorly tailored and unflattering to his body type, suits, mismatched fabrics etc).

Needless to say I LOVE this thread!

Now that has changed. Picturing Prince in clothes like in the picture below make me need some privacy. QUICKLY

Older men are HOT as FUCK and Prince is a PRIME example of that.
