Get over it, by doing small venues like this he doesn't have to deal with the riff-raff. Only the ones that have money enough to pay the Price. People that bitch about $77.00 can't really afford Prince.confused

You just love trying to throw up people bitching about that 77.00 price tag, don't you? Well here's a dose of REALITY for both you and Prince!

For the purpose of this discussion, I'm going to say that Prince has a "functioning" website. With the technology that is available today, I KNOW FOR A FACT, that he could have a concert, right fucking now!! From anywhere in the world, stream it live from his website and collect 77.00 each from people all over the world that would gladly pay to see it, myself included! The bitching ain't ever been about the money, honey! It's about the value of what we get for it!!

He doesnt have to do a world tour , that is why he dont.
He plays where he wants and when he wants for the price he wants.
He has earned it.
Just count yourself lucky if you ever got to see him on one of those
'world tours'.

y prince doesn't do a world tour? hmmm

let's c we got people saying he's 2 old 2 do it, others saying that's not an exucse cause blah blah still tours ...

so the question isn't about age then ...so then it's about the music then right?

okay the other artists that have been mentioned in this thread r STILL doing the same old songs over and over again.

if u looked at that setlist that was done at montreaux, do u think that's the setlist 4 a open arena/stadium tour?

and since when has prince EVER done a stadium tour 2 begin with? eek

but that's the crust of it there, most won't b able prince dropping a cool ass set list like he did this weekend ..naw some will still b screaming in ur year "do 1999!!! let's go crazy!!!" screaming out things that have been done 2 death!

prince is better suited now 2 do small venues and theaters so thus he can stretch out doing setlist of his current material and die hard material..i like him better this way as opposed 2 say madison square garden and having 2 c a great artist stifled by his catalogue.

maybe that's the real reason behind pulling videos offline, so that he won't have 2 hear all the time people screaming 4 his old shit..food 4 thought
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Read again... my question is not only 'bout stadiums (I dreamed or Prince made 1 concert in front of 55000 people last year?!)

Moreover as I specified higher when for example he comes to France, he makes nothing any more but one concert in front of 7000 people... & it has been like that for more than 15 years now !!!

Is this more profitable for him...?

My feeling it is that (unfortunately) the fact of not being more in a record company complicates much the things... at the financial level.

the last time he per4med in paris was 2002? i'm just guessing here and u had a kick ass soundcheck, kick ass main show and a kick ass aftershow all in one day

Prince doesnt like to do what all the others do. He has built a whole career on following his own path.

I think we all know that Prince still has the ability to sell out large stadiums. The concert that never was in Croke Park, Dublin sold soemthing like 55,000?

The bottom line was Prince didnt want to do it. And if Prince do want to do it, it dont get done.

In any case I think Prince enjoys the smaller arenas. Turn the house lights on.

I think he enjoys the smaller venue shows....again, just my opinion smile

and they sucked ..look at the stir this weekends gigs have proved that the hits r played out yawn

this is what he'd have 2 do in order 2 fill a 55,000 seat venue which is taking a step BACKWARDS instead of moving FORWARD ..

some can't get that point in their heads but hey whatever floats ur boat

That's your point of view... imo the half time show was a kick ass performance & a great experience for those who where there! (Same configuration as the O2)

I think simply that one does not prevent the other & that it can make the 2... small & big venues.

Let's not forget that Prince functions by phases.
And what's true today will not be automatically true tomorrow... especially with him. wink

That's precisely of what I wanted to speak... I do not say that small venues are not well.
I just wanted to say that this last years apart from USA & England Prince gradually moved away from the general public which cannot come any more to see him in concert.

He should continue doing what he's doing - small-venue shows at which he plays what he wants. Keep the ticket prices semi-high, so he gets people who have actually given some thought to being there (instead of cheap tickets aimed at making it a "family" event barf ).
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Prince really only has about 10 years left at his peak. Then he will start sliding. Why not do one more huge concert payday! Make $200 million. Do a world tour, he made around $90 million here, why not play everywhere.

The clock is ticking on his prime. He better hurry up before he's to old.
