Ok, so now that the decade is ending say you're in charge of releasing a CD of The Very Best of Prince - The 2000s. Strictly music from this decade. It should be only a 12 to 15 song compilation. Go ahead! You're the boss! The "label owner"! Rrrright... a label with Prince.... Anyway... you decide.

What would you put in there??

While for me a compilation of the 80s would be hard because there was SO much SO good, a compilation of the 00s would be hard for me too because the albums from this decade haven't done much for me. In the 80s and early part of the 90s I remember being mesmerized by EVERY song of each album of his that I would buy. His songs would literally move my soul and my body. It was magic. It was an event every time I would get a new Prince CD. This decade hasn't been like that at all. I don't feel the magic anymore. I may like some songs on each album, but not even then I would compare it to the magic and amazement I would feel in the 80s.

This is why I start this post. Maybe looking at the compilations you would come up with, it would make me reconsider some songs and revisit them and maybe rediscover them in a great way.

First of all, i don´t share ur feelings about the magical moments.
Prince´s music of the 2000s are > then the 90s for me.
He still does great music and writes fantastic songs
but don´t have the support from a major label anymore
to get an "official" hit.

Here are some great songs, but it wouldn´t make a compilation
since it wouldn´t be a homogenous album.
TRC is a great album itself as a concept album for example,
very complex and not easy to listen to, but a wonderful piece
of musical art craft.
