best boot to show off P's guitar skills?

there's a guy I'm arguin with at work about Prince's guitar skills. This guys an older hard rocker (Zeppelin, Ozzy, etc.) He only knows of Prince's popular radio stuff and so thinks thats all there is too him. I've got quite a few boots but am trying to decide which would be one each of the best boot CD's and DVD's where P really shreds the guitar. Appreciate any and all opinions and suggestions, thanks

The Undertaker and the obvious Just My Imagination.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

small club by a mile-awesome solo's, great rhythm and-it can't be studio trickery-its live.....

there are a few but for me-this is tops-undertaker is cool-but too many wierd sounds-the solo from just my imagination on small club alone is better i think

Dreamer from LA Conga Room
Days Of Wild Guitar Jam from the NPGMC release
Motherless Child from Septimo

Cosign on the official releases too. I would go with those before boots in fact.

You don't need a boot. What about the Rock Hall Of Fame solo of Guitar Gently Weeps.

Even stunned Tom Petty.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about the ONA Aftershow Joy In Repetition. Excellent choice there. So many other ones come to mind that my brain can't keep up with them all.

I can't count the times I've argued on P's behalf as a guitarist. So many purists refuse to accept it. I was really surprised to see him represented so much on....a website that I'm unsure if I can mention (lol).

frustrating as hell. They just won't accept it. The really frustrating thing is that about 99.9% of the people who argue that he's not one of the greats have never even heard anything of his other than a few of the hits on the radio. I'll never understand it. (well, I kinda do and I have my thoughts about why, but that's a whole other topic)

Maybe if his stuff was on You Tube like every other artist we could show people!!!!! How the he'll are we going to dig up a specific solo from an aftershow from 10 years ago? Maybe it cups be located on a P2p site and downloaded but that ain't too assesible to the average Joe. He'll even Lovesexy Live isn't available officially or on You Tube....

I was going to suggest that one, as well. nod

The entire Small Club show has great guitar. He tore it up at the Conga Room, too.

On the boot ONA Vega in Copenhagan there is a sublime version of "Whole Lotta Love" with some kick ass geetar playing.
In fact ONA Vega should have been released instead of It Aint Over...plus the comedic value of Princes reaction when someone takes his picture is priceless lol

"Did they tell you NO pictures"? lol

Does it have to be a shredding, face-melting solo to show of his guitar skills? I personally really gett off on his rhythm playing, as well as the all-too-rare opportunity to hear him on acoustic. Other Side of he Pillow and don't Play Me would be good examples. Maybe that won't impress your friend though.

I guess you can't go past that Just My Imagination that everyone's already mentioned. I'd also nominate that blues solo on Purple House from the Rave DVD. That's pretty phenomenal. Also that little guitar break on Expert Lover where he's so on fire he yells out "ouch!". Cracks me up every time.

Also, on the Lovesexy Concert Video, he tears it up in a very jazzy way on If I had a Harem. I recommend that because it's not a wah and overdrive-laden solo, you can hear what a precise picker he is when it comes to technique.

Ahh Prince, what a gun.
Take it - like Clarence said:

all different U know."
