It's hard to except but, it's a reality - GREAT SONGS OUT LIVE THEIR CREATORS and take on a life of their own with other artistes interpretations. Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder are great examples of this. In many ways it's a massive compliment to the originator. It gives me hope that Prince's legacy will go on even if he is doing his best to stifle it. | |

That was great! Now I have to find out what other stuff this guy has done.
And a previous poster was right. Great songs DO outlive their creators. Listen to anyone sing a Gershwin tune or a Sinatra/Riddle classic.
