I do believe the indigo nights version is superior. it sounds like he wanted real horns instead of synthesized ones from the start.

Let me clarify. The songs he chose were ok. But the performances sucked.

His voice sounds awful....on every single track.

I so agree! Got the book only for the cd, flicked through it once whilst trying to sit through the cd and all I could think of was: what the fuck? I've never given it another spin after that first listen, nor have I ever glanced at that damn book again...wonder where I put it booty!
