Have you ever come close.... Have you ever come close to saying, "ok thats it..Im done with Prince."?
Obviously none of us have, but has anyone come close, and why? My moment was when he decided to start playing the race card. This guy, has had more control of his career since day one than any other artist on the planet. He a multi millionare many times over. In 1992 he signed the Biggest record deal in the history of record deals. He Has more awards than he can count, but he decided out of the blue that things were suddenly tough on him because he was black. I never understood where in the world that came from. Thank God, he got off of that pretty quickly.

quite a few times. Prince infuriates me as much as he intrigues me. [Edited 7/11/09 15:54pm] Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

It was quite a while back, maybe in the late 90's. I heard him say something like "Being a black man in the music industry, Im not given the same oppurtunities as a white man"
I was like, "WHAT?! You have had MORE oppurtunities than any man of ANY race!"

Many times. The Rainbow Children, and the racism on it. The racism on One Nite Alone. Musicology's bland mix of horrible songs.
His constant bullying of his fans, YouTube users filming their children, etc. Many time I've thought of selling all my Prince stuff. And I have a lot of it like anyone else.

Every damn week, I pretty much call it quits with Prince.

LetusFUover.con is really-the first time I've seriously thought-why do i bother. He's brought albums out that have not been my faves-but i could always find something in there to get me through.
Im deffo never buying an official release if i can get the torrent again though-and i don't care if i have to wait a little-and i don't care what he adds to that place-IF ANYTHING. iF I've seen it-heard it or paid for it years before-he can keep it. Im still here-but my fingers have been burnt-and unfortunately-my capacity for forgiveness when it comes to being ripped off is-pertty much zero And-i have to say-as good as he is live-and ive seen him many many times-i think o2 prices in 07 were fair. If he goes for massive prices next time-which i think is inevitable with him these days-i won't bother I'll get the boot dvd instead

I never thought the Problems with Warner Brothers were about race as much as about artistic freedom. Keep in mind he put up with the label cutting songs off his albums and denying him whole discs being released. He finally had enough of it and blew them off. Sign O' the times was originally supposed to be the 3 disc Dream Factory but Warners said too much material. also remember pretty much all of that material is stuff that everyone on here likes/loves and wanted to hear.A lot of us on here are screaming over and over "Open The Vault" to Prince when back in the day he tried to do just that. The "Slave" on the face was to signify Warners refusal to let him obtain his masters and therefore binding him to them technically for life as a recording slave. Think about it Warners could re-release any Prince music tehy want when they want without his input or approval. a big difference from jamming at Andre's and cranking out what you want, when you want and for whomever you want.
To answer the question though, Nope! [Edited 7/11/09 19:06pm] When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

lol....how u rain on her parade is the funniest shit in the world. Listen, I try to overlook it, but it's creepy and pathetic. Some chick or two (don't forget mzwannabesexybabe) sitting at home fawning over Prince, someone who has NO clue who they are, and actually hoping for MARRIAGE?! Haven't they learned that Prince marrying his fans NEVER works? It's like Purple Rain meets Fatal Attraction.

Girl, love Prince and all but this wanting to marry him and shit is creepy. Its one of the reasons I'm that Prince doesn't get close to his fan . Seriously Tame, you have a better chance fucking with Joe the Plumber at this point.

I was like, "WHAT?! You have had MORE oppurtunities than any man of ANY race!" Funny for the fact that he doesn't seem to consider himself black, which doesn't matter to me.

I do recall him writing slave on his face because he was owned by the record company and he was upset that they had control of his masters. To me Prince doesn't play the race card he is just proud to be black and since when is it so wrong for someone to speak on it. And for what reason would you say okay I'm done with him if you assumed he was playing the race card when he was black all along. Remember in Under the Cherry Moon 86 he said "and then you get black" you should have just dropped him then if it was an issue. To Sir, with Love

Yes once seriously. It was about how he brought Bria and her/his music to the world. It was a big disapointment. She deserved better and so did everyone else IMO. I don't think a man would have played along with it. I lost respect for both of them on that one. Help others get ahead. You will always stand
