The last time you heard Prince sing a "Dirty" song...

I remember when he swore off dirty songs and cursing.
But then I went to see him during the Hit n Run tour in 2001. He blew everyone away with Darling Nikki! The dancer even pulled up her school girl skirt to show she had "Nikki" written on the back of her panties!
When was the last time U heard him sing a "dirty" song and what was it?

Um, Valentina which came out recently is plenty dirty.

I can think of a few "dirty" songs that Prince has sung over the past decade since his conversion.

Lolita has a few dirty lyrics. "Imagine me on the tip of your tongue".

Mellow from The Rainbow Children has a downright filthy lyric about "wet circles around a toy".

Even as a Jehovah's Witness, he's still PRINCE.

In reality, stuff like "Lolita" is acceptable to him because he's not saying "I wanna fuck the taste out of your mouth." He still edits words like "whore" out of "DMSR". Doesn't he even remove the lyric about stripping down to your underwear out of "DMSR" too?

The Hit N Run Tour of 2001 was probably the last time. He started editing himself later in 2001. The Revolution era Hit N Run tour songs from 1986 were on NPGMC year 1, and at some point the songs started having edits. Like "P.U.S.S.Y" in "New Position" was reversed. He'd have some big statement at the beginning of "Horny Pony" to say it wasn't endorsing premarital sex. (rolls eyes)

However, he came close on the 02 shows in London. When he did the sample medley, playing samples (loops) of songs on a keyboard, he'd play the bass line to "Erotic City" and sing the first couple of lines, but never let it go to the chorus.

Yep. I could NOT believe that when I got the Vegas bootleg. I was like WWWWWHHHHHAAAAA? The same goes for him changing "physical" to "spiritual" in "I Feel For You". Even Chaka Khan cringed when she sang then as he played it on that award show she was singing on. The physical and spiritual work together, and he's totally missing that. Someone once used a phrase while talking to me, years ago in church, that made sense to me. "They're too spiritually minded to be of any earthly good." That even applies to Prince these days.

Probably the last album with all the schtick is the Truth, with the word Motherfucker used liberally and Rave does feature a lot of the sexual stuff eg "Get u under the cream and ohh!"

Lolita has sexual reference along with Black Sweat and then theres the double entendre in 3121 "Drink Champagne from a glass with chocolate handles". Planet Earth's "Mr Goodnite" suggests seduction after the date, but no detail of what they do. "Valentina" is sexy but not sexual like "Dance 4 me", he does seem to have lost his Jones a bit

You want good sex in a Prince record dig out his early 80s stuff like Dirty Mind to 1999 I say (Those 3 albums oozed sex and dirty lyrics).

He performed Bambi with all the lyrics including "baby you need to bleed" in New York MSG Musicology show in 2004 the second night, couldn't believe it, although if you were not a diehard fan, you wouldn't know the song and couldn't understand the lyrics over the awesome guitar.

That doesn't make it dirty. To me, "Let's Pretend We're Married", "Sister" "Darling Nikki"...those are DIRTY songs. Suggestive isn't the same as dirty.

He just gotten more creative in how he gets "dirty" but it's still there.
He still performs "D.M.S.R." & "Let's Work" both which were very dirty in there day.
He also occasionally teases audiences with a few chords of a dirty track at shows. He did that in New York @ MSG with "Darling Nikki". He kept starting to play it and everyone went apeshit then he stopped and said "Oooh I'm gonna tell yo' mama!"

oral
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

He’s talking about sexual role-playing in 2009’s “Wall of Berlin”. Reservations have crumbled beneath older cultural expectations and skid marks on tables and high-pitched whistles seem to belie the simple dream theory.

And 2009’s “Dance 4 Me” is a great song for praising what god gave you to unwrap around a rhythm.

Stuff is just more deeply hidden in double entendre and metaphor now. He is, after all, 51, and in some cases, talking more directly wouldn’t show much growth or maturity from the magnificent “Dirty Mind” of 29 years ago.

I still love to listen to "Dirty Mind", but I don’t want it rewritten from the mind of someone who has lived over half a century. Just like “Baby” from 1978. Very naïve and cool insight into someone's teenage brain, not something I want to hear penned by someone who can qualify for AARP.

But, yeah, I think “duck” instead of “fuck” or “spirituality” instead of “sexuality” are personally ridiculous. But this isn't my art.

And while I’m not too keen on editing, I can’t reasonably expect a person to perform at a world-class level to lyrics that aren’t profoundly felt (even if I don’t agree with there being any “dirty” words, only people who betray their own beliefs).

this might be kindof off topic, but I didn't want to make a thread just for this little question, and since you guys were mentioning DMSR...

Have you ever noticed that he only ever calls out for white people to clap?
