A true Master Piece !

Men are from Mars... women from Venus... ?

"Something In The Water (does Not Compute)"

Some people tell me I got great legs
Can't figure out why U make me beg
Does not compute (Does not compute)
Don't not compute (Don't not compute)
U think you're special, well so do I
Why do special women make me cry?
Does not compute (Does not compute)
It don't not compute (Don't not compute)

Must be something in the water they drink
It's been the same with every girl I've had
Must be something in the water they drink
'Cuz why else would a woman wanna treat a man so bad?

Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U
It don't compute (Don't not compute)
Somethin' mama don't compute (Don't not compute)
What's the hangup? What's the scam?
Guess U think I'm just another 1...1 of your fans
It don't compute (Don't not compute)
Somethin' honey don't compute (Don't not compute)

Must be something in the water they drink
It's been the same with every girl I've had
Must be something in the water U drink
'Cuz why else would a woman wanna treat a man so bad?

I've got 2 get 2 U, baby
Some people think I'm kinda smart
Why must a fella stop with U before he starts?
It don't compute, mama (Does not compute)
Somethin' don't compute (Don't not compute)
I'd buy U clothing, buy U fancy cars
But U gotta talk 2 me, baby, tell me who U really r

Must be something in the water they drink
It's been the same with every girl I've had
Must be something in the water U drink
Why else would a woman wanna treat a man so bad?

(Must be something in the water U drink)
(Does not compute)
(Don't not compute)
(Don't not compute)
(Must be something in the water U drink)
Bitch -- U think you're special? (Must be something in the water U drink)
So do I
(second coming) (Must be something in the water U drink)
Why in God's name
do U wanna make me cry?
Why? Why? (Must be something in the water U drink)
I'd do anything 4 U, anything (Must be something in the water U drink)
Why don't U talk 2 me? (Must be something in the water U drink)
Tell me who u r (Must be something in the water U drink)
don't do this 2 me (Must be something in the water U drink)
please don't do this (Must be something in the water U drink)

Why? Why?
I do love U. I do.
Or else I wouldn't go through all the things I do

cool

certainly one of my favourites

I find it interesting that he re recorded this one years later too

I know in theory Prince re recorded all his warners brothers albums (at least, I know that was the plan)

but this is one of the few of those re recordings that i've actually heard!

The original is special, but I love the re done one too...the chords are lush to play on keyboard too

exenn

The eeriest song in his catalogue, and his best chord sequences. The whole performance is light years beyond anything else from that era of his work.

I remeber him playing this at the piano at the O2. It was my favourite moment of all 21 concerts.

Amen. I would love to have a high quality recording of that few minutes of the show. Has he ever performed SITWDNC on piano before or since?

I was there nod

That was heartbreaking. His vocals were great during the piano segment. When he played Something in the water, her poured his heart into it. I just watched his face on the giant screen and he looked genuinely upset. It was a very moving performance. that performance will always stick with me. I can still see the green laser lights behind him aming him look like a silhouette.

He also sang 'i would die for you' alone at the piano and his voice was so strong. He filled the place with sound.

Between the screams on this track and the ones on "Let's Pretend We're Married" I was blown away.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Normally I dont care too much for that song, put that night is one of my favourite performances of it. Had a inner energy to it. The whole piano segment was brilliant. How come you dont call me, delirious, little red corvette, something in the water, I would die for you, free. WOW.

I have only ever been to two Prince concerts, and Im thankful this was one of them.

I have always loved the drum track in Something in the water, and I was surprised how good it sounded just on the piano.

I love the song

I've always loved his songs that had that Compute(r) Digital vibe to them

Very dark song, very emotional, I love how a lot of his earlier music had a big room or long hallway feel, this song sounds like it's at night time in the city

I was just listening to the slower version at the 1st Ave birthday show 6.7.84
Now that one is wild unrestrained the band is tight and it sound like a recording gone wild Love this song
