When will Prince acknowledge MJ's death I think it would be classy on his part if he came out and said something...anything about MJ, after all, they were on some type of good terms.

Wouldn't it be classy if we all just left this alone? Since when is it proper to demand that people pay public condolences? Condolences are paid to the family. Prince does not owe the public a statement. "It's hard 4 me 2 say what's right when all I want to do is wrong..."

Yeah, I agree. But also...this could just be the logical continuation of the whole "Prince Vs. MJ" thing. Whether it ultimately makes any sense or not, they're something of a pair. Kinda like Yin and Yang. . [Edited 7/9/09 0:14am] Facebook, I haz it - https://www.facebook.com/Nikster1969

Prince will possibly comment on this in an interview later on when all the hype is over,
just a guess. Prince 4Ever.

For years we did not know that Prince was on speaking terms with the Jacksons. Then we find out that Prince has been to the Jackson home and he asked to duet with Mike on Bad.
I will guarantee you that Prince has made a private statement to the family. Dude is on the coast and he is friendly with the family.Just because CNN did not say anything does not mean that he has not done something. We may not know what Prince did until his own passing.

I know this will get locked, and for good reason, but Prince asked to duet on "Bad"?? Huh? The way I remember him telling it to Chris Rock, it was MJ who asked him to duet. And Prince said the first lyric is "your butt is mine...." and passed. "Be glad for what you had baby, what you've got..."

Can we get over this and move on? I mean seriously...Im pretty darn sure MJ wouldnt care what Prince does or dosent say and quite frankly neither do I Why on earth is this soooo important to everyone? PRINCE IS WATCHING U " When an Artist Creates, whatever they create belongs to society"

one of the first things most of us thought upon hearing the news was, "I wonder what prince is gonna say?" C'mon, admit it. There's nothing wrong with that.

This. Didn't he play SuperFreak when Rick James died? Anyone, I think Prince would play Smooth Criminal, or Beat It. He'll stay away from Black or White though, it's too close to 1999.

prince is probably on good terms with the family and mediaries like jimmy and terry. I'm sure his gesture will be private and in good taste, if the memorial taught us anything it is that this was a man. Just as Magic Johnson has funny stories about sharing a bucket of chicken im sure prince has mike stories as well. What we need to understand is these people have their own community and despite the TMZ/youtube age we live in theres so much we'll never know. For all we know, both men who were prone to manufacturing stories and mystery had a lot to do with a publicizing of a non existant rivalry-how would we know?.

I'd also like to point out that the age we live in give us the audience this false sense of entitlement. This idea that we should see and hear everything when nothing could be further from the truth.

I wondered how he felt, not what he'd say. When has he commented on the passing of other artists? Did I miss something? "Be glad for what you had baby, what you've got..."

just a guess. That's what I think too, re: about making a swift comment once the dust has settled. Maybe at his next public appearance or show - not a speech, maybe a musical nod. Remember when he was asked about the child abuse allegations, he was very tactful about it, and I think he would use the same tone now - respectful.

after he rejected to do the Bad song as duet, Prince sent a tape to Michael with the song Wouldn't You Love To Love Me on it, but Michael never recorded the song, later the song was released by the Prince produced artist Taja Sevelle. Prince 4Ever.

Even though I never been a MJ fan I agree with you. I think he would gain alot of respecet and defitnitely show a human side...but who's to say he did'nt speak with the family personaly in some kind of way. I'm not going to knock him for however he chose to do it because he is a grown man and it's his choice to deal with it the best way he decides...although I'm pretty sure he is hurt by MJ's death and his decision to remain quiet is probably just to keep the focus on MJ.

So how may people do you think Prince knows that have died and that were very close to him?????
LOTS! He keeps it all to him self I can understand that sharing your feelings about some ones death is PRIVATE AND PERSONAL So why is it so important that he needs to make a statement. Lets respect his silence.
