I need to get this out

Sorry, I know this won't be liked here-I can truly say that I have been a fan of Prince since I was 9yrs old, but I am disappointed sad . Did Prince not even send out a condolence to the Jackson Family? I'm very disappointed. If he did privately, then I apologize right now, but if he didn't that's sad. Alright, you may throw brick 's now.

He doesn't have to and it's not his place to. It sure would be nice if he did though.

I can respect that, but being a child who grew up in the 80's and witnessed the rise of Prince, Madonna and Michael-it would have been fitting from one superstar to a fallen one.

I don't think it was his place to make a statement on Michael's Death. As long as you've been a Prince fan, when has he ever made a public statement?

Especially something through a publicist agents like most statements about Michael came from.

I think if someone asks him about Michael's death, he'll answer.

He has a concert at Montreux coming up, so maybe he'll make a statement there.

Just because he doesn't make public statement doesn't mean he doesn't care.

He didn't go to his parents funerals. He probably doesn't choose to grieve publicly.

if he didn't comment on James' death, why would he on Michaels'. That's not his style. He try's to stay out of public people's private live, unless they're in his circle...which Michael wasn't. Shit...He even pre-apologized for telling that Larry Grahm Story on Tavis about the brawl. People commenting on his son's death was the LAST thing Prince wanted, he's not gonna throw his 2 cents in about someone else's tragedy.

Ok...I'm making assumptions...but the Purple spray may have been sent by Prince....I don't think that he would be that insensitive....

I can agree that Prince has always stayed out of other folks business-I was hoping that just once he would say something. After, all these years I guess that was wishful thinking eek

I agree that while it would have been a nice gesture for Prince to make a public statement about Michael, he isn't obligated to do so and who knows what's gone on in private that we (the public) just aren't aware of.

This is only idle thinking out loud, but I've wondered if Michael's status of being an ex-member of the JWs plays into the equation at all...if that makes the situation more awkward for Prince, I mean.

Why do we concern ourselves with the way others grieve? Maybe Prince didn't like MJ. Hell, I wasn't a fan of the guy and refuse to make some fake public display for him.

And damn, this is at least the tenth thread on the same subject.

boxed I had to get it out-it's been bothering me. I am the truest Prince fan ever, but I just couldn't miss the fact that out of all the condolences/statements made public-none were from my Prince sad

I think it's more dignified to send condolences in private, not everything has to be done in the public eye just because you're well known. Prince has spoken very kindly about MJ before so I'm sure he's as sad about his passing as everyone else is.

Anxiety

when is the last time prince made a public statement to the media about someone's death?

or birth?

or birthDAY?

or anniversary?

it's not his thing. it wasn't his thing before he became a JW, and he's claimed his religion is why it's not his thing now.

if he made *any* acknowledgement, i'm sure it was very private and direct.

and since this is the kajillionth thread about prince making a comment on MJ, it's time for the lock once again.
