To be honest I thought the grammy duet was quite good but I think it should stop there. Beyonce is too commercial for Prince for it to sound credible. I think it worked with Madonna with Love Song because he turned madonna into a muse-she lost the fight in the duet essentially. Beyonces sound is too big for that to happen. Also I don't think Prince duets like this work because nobody takes it seriously. Prince will always suffer from the problem that either you like him or you don't-a Beyonce fan would not convert to Prince on the back of a duet. Also to be fair to Prince even those who dislike him seem to have a sense of his own sense of artistry and would whether conciously or not see it as a cynical exercise on his part. This is why I think Prince's collaborative work needs to stay at an instrument level-coz he can feed on that and learn. Collaborative duets as a whole (even tho I like them) don't work for him in the wider market

I don't like Beyonce and I didn't like their grammy performance but the girl has talent and if it would be something like Work It Out (her first and best solo single and unfortunately not a US hit) why not? It could work. I mean Martika and Madonna weren't exactly singing Prince's style of music when they co-operated

Even though i think she's an amazing talent, i'm kinda "Beyonced out" right now. Besides been there saw that.
