^ prince is a goat? wha???

Hell no! To say "best of all time", you'd have to factor in Mozart, which we all know, is waaaaayyyyy out of Prince's league. So no, he is not the best of all time. Michael Jackson was definitely a more international figure/pop icon. I doubt that a billion people will be watching Prince's funeral. Not that many people even know he exists.

This is too subjective and irrelevant to be anything close to useful.

Just enjoy the damn music.

when he's NOT a one man jam-he is rather good at getting the right people to do what they do at another level which feeds his creativity. 2 minds are always better than one-especially one so isolated from the outside world (us!)

BUT

when he does EVERYTHING -no he then becomes good-not great and deffo nowhere near the best

I never seen a Prince Tribute, why?

Let me just ask these questions:

1. If you put Prince in a room full of instruments, microphones and recording equipment...with no one else in the room....what quality of album would you end up with?

2. If you put Prince on a stage full of instruments and microphones....with no one else on stage....what quality of performance would you end up with?


Now substitute other artists names in place of Princes in the questions above....like Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Bob Marley, Joni Mitchell, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Miles Davis..etc...what quality of work would you end up with???

What I'm trying to say is that if you take away all the supporting musicians, producers, songwriters and choreographers..etc.....how great is the artist?

So is Prince the best of All time? If time even exists...then it includes past, present and future....and who knows what is to come.....but regardless of time I think Prince will always rank pretty high...

Now having said all of that I believe that life wouldn't be life without music...and I am thankful for all those who open their hearts and share the music they have inside with the world!

The media is claiming that Michael is the best of all time. If we think Prince is better than Michael, wouldn't that make him the best of all time?

By the way, nowhere in my argument do I agree that Prince is the best of all time. I only say he is better than MJ.

Logically, he's not. Prince is not the end all and be all of music, despite his claims to being the embodiment of music.

But, is he up there? Oh yes, of course. But the greatest of all time? Nope.

Heaven is about a lot more than Prince.

Just two months ago you couldn't get anyone to admit they were a MJ fan (especially in America) except for his die hard fans, now everyone is calling him the greatest this and that. PHONY! A lot of people are saying MJ is the best artist ever because he sold more records but does that equate to greatest? Britney Spears sells a lot of records and I don't find anything of substance in her. I rank MJ as the best dancer and video artist of his generation and very underrated singer. Prince is the best musician and songwriter of his generation and also very underrated singer. Both of them are the best entertainers of their generation ( I define entertainment as something that can move you, whether it be by dancing or music).
