When she won an award she said thanks to and then she did some weird sign with her finger and everyone was looking confused; then she said "thanks to my dear friend Prince. I'm going to call you Prince." He just smiled.

This was the night he performed TMBGITW. He also really got into the Ray Charles performance. The camera was really on Prince that evening. He won an award that night and looked terrible. A lot of makeup, you could see his shoulder pads...the brotha looked like a girl, but that's our boy. Mayte's makeup was looking a little thick as well and she had the straight across bangs....but she always looks good.

It was a cool show overall. I have it on tape somewhere. I remember the show ended with fireworks. Everyone stood and turned and watched through the roof. Prince was helping Mayte with her cape/rap she was wearing. I was thinking "are they going out?" and then they got married the next year (or how ever long it was).

I believe there is a Ray Charles performance too.....?

I have this whole award show on VHS somewhere, must dig it out again.
if remember theres also a bit when Mayte drops her scarf and she just leaves it on the floor but Prince bends down to pick it up, always found that bit quite odd for some reason.

The show seemed really edited because there were times Whitney was next to Prince and then a minute later her mom was sitting there. Anyways....
