I Feel For You

I would like to know if anyone (besides Prince) recorded "I Feel For You" before the Pointer Sisters did in 1982?

Well Elvis wrote it. Then The Beatles covered it. Then it was kind of a lost gem until Andre Cymone told Prince about it. Prince then passed it off as his own before The Pointer Sisters did a version, Chaka then used this as her template for the 1984 number one smash. biggrin
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Sorry I'll probably get told off for being silly.

The correct answer is no-one. I think Chaka Khan is the only cover version recorded after Prince's 1979 version. I was not aware that The Pointer Sisters did a version in 1982. confused Are you sure their song is called I Feel For You?

The Pointer Sisters did a cover of "I Feel For You". I've heard it. It's on their So Excited album.

Rebbie Jackson did a version on her album "Centepede".
Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Oh, indeed she did! Never knew that! Must find that album anyway, but even moreso now.

Let's not forget LaToya covering "Private Joy" on Heart Don't Lie.
