It would take a long time to go through my record collection...There is so much great music out there. There is still so much I haven't heard knowing I would own an album and relisten 2 it...By thousands of Bands.

I Love almost everything, or love at least one song from everybody that I have heard. cool

IMO our little Prince has five albums that I consider were the best in the year that they were released.

In years 1985 and 1986 I would say both ATWIAD and Parade were the second best albums released in those particular years.

I was shocked at how poor not just Prince music was but music in general was from the mid 1990s onwards.
Some good albums but no truly classic albums that were critically renowned.

The Fall (John Peel's favourite ever band) were the only act consistently making music that mattered.

I think only one Prince album in the last fifteen years or so (The Gold Experience) would have been in my personal top ten of the particular year it was released.
Very underrated album.

Good thread for wasting time though lol good stroll down memory lane. razz

interesting thread...you really did have time to kill...I was noticing all of the P.E. and u didnt include "nations"..but i dont have the mental capacity (attention span) to do such a listing and applaud you for that..but just for recent years i couldnt put Lotus Flower over Esperanza Spaulding's album

"It takes a nation of millions to hold us back" by PE would be my third best album of 1988.

1. Prince - Lovesexy
2. Morrissey - Viva Hate
3. PE - Nation of millions.

Great year for music. In fact the 1980s (often maligned) in general was an incredible decade for music.

PE are one of the best album acts of all time. cool

Cheers cool

If you haven't already you should check out The Fall, astounding band, second best band of all time. Only The Smiths are their betters.

Fall frontman Mark E. Smith is a one off, that's for sure. lol
