A little, but the bass line for "Thriller" was borrowed from "Give IT To Me BAby" from Rick James. Rod Temperton admitted that on the Thriller special edition cd.

I see what you mean, but I think the Eye No bassline sounds more like it as far as the notes and instrument, but Lemon Crush is more like the rhythm... but still very far off in my opinion.

with a bending clean synth bass: Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa-Wah beat Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa-Wah (repeat) = Thriller

with a bending clean synth bass: Wah - beat - Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa-Wah. breath breath - Wah - beat - Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa-Wah. = Eye No

It's the Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa-Wah.

The outtake "All My Dreams" has a section with a bassline that sounds either like Thriller or Bad or Beat It... from what I remember... it's the part where P starts talking in a deep voice.

Also, the drumbeat from Chocolate is similar to Beat It?

The extended version of 'Thieves In The Temple' always reminds me of 'Billie Jean' to for a few seconds toward the end.

I've always thought Erotic City and 1+1+1=3 have had the most MJ-like basslines al la Billie Jean.....

I don't think All My Dreams bassline sounds anything like those songs mentioned - its just a jazzy, swinging, arpeggiated scale.
