When Doves Cry, an answer to Billie Jean ??

I believe these 2 songs were their ultimate crowning moment in eary 80s n redefination of the pop culture

Not intending to start controversy but recently I kinda found Billie more listenable even though im a total 100% P fan and only 5% MJ fan overall... Billie seems more danceable with the bass
I hate to say it but overall I "may" enjoy Billier more, which i stubornly refuse

Well, maybe i shouldnt be comparing but...Somehow I felt that When Doves Cry was an answer to Billie and for P to prove to himself or us that he could do something even more fantastic without the bass but instead superb guitar n amazing keyboards (which I admit WDC is definitely more musicianship)

If u have 2 pick only 1 winner, which will it be n why?
if u cant tell me if Prince or Rosie did the opening scream for Gett Off, then u are not purple !!!

As we know When Doves Cry originally had a bass in it...umm..they're both infectious songs...I prefer Billie Jean...vocals are better...and have you noticed the chorus of WD's Cry is exactly the same as the verses melodically?...e.g. "Dig if u will the picture..."How can u just leave me standing"...

...no...Prince's voice is pretty monotone throughout...but of course the drums are crazy & it doesn't take away from the rest of the song.

Hmmm, in general though I don't compare MJ & Prince musically.

peace

I pick Caribbean Queen by Billy Ocean.
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

The music is better-no matter who you were if you were alive in 84 you remember that summer for that song. The intro is timeless, the video was terrific and not to mention alittle movie called Purple Rain. Billie Jean on the other hand was also good, but I always associated it with Motown 25 and that famous Moonwalk (RIP MJ), but WDC wins every time.
