Fuckin' awesome worship
Some people are like Slinkies...

They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Well, its my favorite track on Sign of the Times, and probably one of my favorite Prince songs.

The drum programming is out of this world - listening to that on full volume with headphones is amazing. It still gets me every time.

Lyrically, its brilliant. His vocals are restrained yet full of emotion. The song is perfectly structured, and full of interesting moments.

I wish it had been included in the Sign of the Times concert movie

I know this song is very popular with a lot of people and I just wanted to ask them - why? I don't get it myself. Not putting anyone else's taste down, just genuinely want to know what it is that makes this song so special for you. Is it the melody, the meaning, did you see it live and it changed your mind?

I loved it because I thought the beat was off just a little, the keyboards sounded like it was out of tune and Prince was singing in time to some other beat but it all came together beautifully. I thought this song showed why he is a musical genius. One of my favorite songs from my favorite album of his. cool

Some of my favorite songs by Prince are the ones that tell a story (like I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man). Prince was in full storyteller mode on this one. I especially like that there was no hook which in the case of this song would have “spoiled the flow”.

Now with all of that said, DP didn't really become one of my favorite songs until I heard the live rehearsal with all the jazz trimmings about 7 or 8 years ago. If anyone knows who actually played on that one, please let me know.

The love affair with this song began at that moment for me and now I don’t make a compilation CD without it.
Who ever said Prince has lost it - has lost it. The Kid's still got game!

I actually enjoy the original better.
