Creep Prince covering other's songs is fine by me, but his version of "creep" is really awful. Couldn't match with the original. Quite irritating at some points too.

Why would it have to match the original?

Taste is a personal thing. when you cover a song you have to think you can do better or at least compete with it. it's a very good song, but his version as actually "creepy" [Edited 6/30/09 6:40am]

I love it! The guitar solos are to die for! And for the record, I'm an (early) Radiohead fan.

I loved it. I noticed that there is a Coachella pro shot circulating in addition to the standard audience recorded copy, I just can't figure out what comp it is from. Definitely a great cover. The crowd seemed to love it too.

Yeah, loved it when he got the crowd to imitate his high-pitched 'doo doo de de doo wooooo' thing, it's hilarious! When I heard it first it bothered me that he turned all the words around but I got over it

And, as I said, taste is a personal thing. So why tell us how you think? Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... Radiohead. He covered it at Coachella last year.

I actually think that the Radiohead Version is a little bit over the top. It's very "oh woe is me" "Look at me, I'm so Dark and F-ed up" "I'm soooo Emo." It's sort of 8th gradish IMO.
I think Prince's version with the changed lyrics shifts the songs emphasis from him to someone else, making it less cheesy. Also, Prince's vocal chops are far better than anyone in RadioHead. Period. He's just got a way better voice. Furthermore Prince's guitar playing on his version blows the original right out of the water. And I'm not just saying all this because I'm a Prince fan. If this was just some random track floating around the internet by some random singer, I would still think it was better than RadioHead's version. Bottom Line: Original = Good, but a little bit whiney. Prince's = Better Lyrics, Better Voice, Better instrumentation b [Edited 6/30/09 8:26am] "Prince doesn't have verbal diarrhea, he has studio diarrhea...." Allen Leeds

I'm sorry, I thought that's why this forum was for, to share your thoughts with the other fans just wanted to see if others shared my opinion. and they don't so it seems maybe I gotta stop sending messages then. I thought Prince's version was fine. I would have loved to have heard a better quality version though. The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

Yes, but your view on 'covering' is very restricted and we have to discover that. Why didn't you tell us then? And why is your taste so important? You just tell us you don't like it with a rather limited excuse as explanation. I guess a topic as this one could be made into a better discussion piece with a few slightly more factual arguments Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... I don't like prince's lyric changes, it kills the original meaning of the song. So I prefer the original. But prince's guitar playing is awesome.

Is the whole Prince set out there as a pro-shot bootleg, or just the Creep portion? 'Cause the Creep vid off Lotusflow3r is of course circulating. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I am a big Prince fan and love 99% of his material but he should have never changed the lyrics to this song! That song was made with such emotion and passion by Radiohead, somthing was missing when i heard/saw Prince's cover. Just my opionion.
Prince still rocks though and his guitar playing has always kicked ass!!!!!
