JUST HEARD JUST MY IMAGINATION...4MINS OF GUITAR SOLO... HENDRIX AINT GOT SHIT ON PRINCE!

DAMN! Who else heard that 7min version of just my imagination? 4mins of the song is just Prince on guitar tearing it up, playing out his emotions like no one else can.
Every time I think I've heard his best guitar playing,I find something better.

Hendrix aint got shit on prince, yeah I said it.

well since Jimi's dead.... ummmm... Personally there are a plethora of Guitarists that would make prince put his guitar down and go home and stay there.

I think that Prince IS a better overall Player NOW, than Jimmy was at the time of his death...If Jimmy hadnt die, he would never be celebrated has "the greatest" that title would've been bestowed on some other guitar great who happens to pass on untimely. Kurt Cobain made it on most top ten lists way ahead of Prince who is by far more skillfull...imagine Prince passing on right between Purple Rain and ATWIAD...there would be a religion called "lavender".

OK, now its time to duck...gonna get my head bashed, did I commit treason?

That's what I've been saying from the start...Prince is a better player than the one who everyone considers the best player....hmmmm, funny isn't it?

Prince has done a ton to fuck up his own career, but let's talk talent and there is only one.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

As much as i love Prince as a guitarist just for the pure feeling he expresses - and Small Club Just my Imagination is a good example -

But to say Prince is better than Jimi is comical - (pick up a guitar and learn bwoy!) lol

If I had to choose between any of them I'd choose the Camden version. Even though Small Club is probably one of the best boots you can lay your hands on the Camden rendition of Just My Imagination just blows me away.

It's fuckin' awesome!! worship

Can U name some? And not ones that just speed play like Van Halen and Stevie Vai, cuz those guys just play 2 see how fast they can do it. Yawn. I'm talking about the ability 2 just improvise a solo from the heart and make U feel it like Prince does. As a guitarist myself I'd be really interested see them. So... Name some. smile

Much respect to Jimmy, but I like Prince's playing much more than i do Jimmy's R.I.P...does that mean I have bad taste?
HAd Jimmy lived, he would've been seen as JUST another guitar great.
No matter how truly great another player becomes, he will NEVER be given due respect as the greatest ever, people tend to cling to sentiments from past heroes and r in denial if someone took the skill to a greater level.

Elvis
Pac
Biggie
Bruce Lee
Richard Pryor
Jesse owens
...just to name a few greats who passed on...now convince me that since theire passing, not one of theire peers have surpased theire skills in the feild they are associated with? I Guess dying at the top of your game has its reward...one is considered the greatest for iternity, no matter who comes along and prove themselves as being more skillfull...sad but true.

Yeah its a fantastic guitar solo but could you tell us your favourite Hendrix guitar solo please.
Just so we know which particular solo it is your comparing it to.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

...and thats your opinion...and my opinion is that Prince surpased Jimmy...believe what u want...just imagine if Prince decides to just be a guitarist like all the other greats...he would appear to be from another planet..but for a musician who does it all and plays it all, to play at that level seems to be just the tip of the iceburg of what he IS capable of.
So, overstatement? NAH!!! "Prince is a better dancer than MJ" thats an overstatement!

Prince hardly plays guitar on wax therefore will NEVER be a real guitar legend. The guitar mags and forums don;t even know he;s good. IT PISSES ME OFF!!

He is my fav guitar player live EVER. shame there's little live material showcasing it.

I have PLENTY of guitar related mags from the 90's and up to date that give props to P and his guitar work. P doesn't really like to give guitar related interviews and if he does (do one) it's rare.

And trying to compare Jimi to P is unfair. Apples and oranges and 2 totally different styles from 2 totally different eras. Jimi and Clapton comparisons? Sure..same era.....P and Jesse or Micki Free? Yeah, same age range and influneces.

And P has given many props to Jimi whether admitting it or not. I'm sure everyone on the org has heard his versions of "Spanish Castle Magic", "Voodoo Chile Slight Return", "Villanova Junction" "Them Changes" and "Little Wing".

the only good ones I can think of Clapton and Townsend - both have been quoted as saying how great they think Prince is and indeed better than themselves

who were you thinking of?
