Being a ‘control freak’ may have helped P remain sensible towards life

The unfortunate death of MJ in fact shows how easy it is for celebrity lives to crumble under the public gaze and constant scanner. To an extent, the constant gaze of the paparazzi and vagaries of modern life are responsible for celebrities losing their balance in life.

Which brings a strange thought to my mind. Perhaps the supposed fact of Prince being a ‘control freak’ may in turn have helped him in maintaining a strong grip over his life. Though his life has not been without controversy but his distance from narcotics, intoxicants and addictions and his determination has surely helped him in retaining a tight control over how he has grown over the years. He has not slipped into the regular celebrity trap and songs such as ‘dream factory’ and ‘pop life’ seem prophetic in that sense. His life story and his willpower should serve as an example to youngsters of our generation.

Just a humble personal opinion.

Thanks.

I will agree somewhat, but I wouldn't call Prince a control 'freak'. Every one should be in control of their own life, but it seems more difficult when you're in that kind of business. Everyone wants a piece of you, and Prince has been thru that before. I respect Prince for making his own choices and sticking by them. The weak fall by the wayside. There have been many that have tried to destroy Prince, hurt him, end his career, change his mind, where are they now? Housequake

I'm not sure you could call turning to a fringe religious cult maintaining a strong grip.

Just a humble personal opinion.

But armybrat was mainly talkin about drugs, addiction etc. that can easily take over one's life in that business.
Religion aside.
I swear the words "HATER" is wayyy over-rated...smh

MJ was just as much of a "control freak" as Prince...

Indeed.

And, there's a lot of assumptions going on in this thread. What is certain, and is also incredibly easy to say, is that Prince has handled his career far better than MJ and, hence, appears to have more control over his life.
...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
