Best & worst use of a recycled song Every once in a while, P will dust off an old song sample or lyric and use it on something new (the clips of Little Red 'Vette and more after Musicology title track, Jam Of The Year lyrics in Push It Up, The Purple Medley, etc). The worst, I think, is taking a part of the chorus from Big Fun and plugging them into New Power Soul. My favorite, by far, is the remix instrumental track on the Letitgo Maxi-Single that uses the keyboard and drum track from Dorothy Parker. Y tu?

Prince samples himself a lot. The Purple Party Mix of "Partyman" samples a lot. So does the beginning of "My Name is Prince". Don't forget how "The Latest Fashion" and "My Summermtime Thang" were used differently, as well as "Love Machine" I think. Lots of cross breeding there. Makes you wonder what's the sample and what's the original. He sampled "Rave" a lot in "Batdance" and other tunes. "DMSR" was brilliantly sampled in a remix of "Lovesign".
Something else on Crystal Ball had a sample. "18 & Over" it think samples "COME" as well as something else. "Gett Off" sampled "Get Off" in one tiny section.
