Its a Good Thing Prince is Silent Right Now

even though some might misconstrue his silence, i think its a good thing Prince is right now. (Stevie Wonder declined to make a statement saying he was overcome with grief). For some reason i think Prince would say something borderline inappropriate and make some reference to Jehovah's plan or something. (Don't get me wrong I'm a Christian, NOT a JW, not the same thing...) So hopefully he'll show his support for the family and respect for Michael in a way that is positive...eventually

If Prince were to do anything, it would be something like adding a Jackson song or 2 to the setlist in his upcoming shows (whenever that is).

Either that, or he'd cover one of MJ's songs and offer it to the Jackson family for free like he did with the Hendrix family when he gave them 'Purple House'.

I think that we can all tastefully agree that Prince is probably feeling this.

What an idiotic statement.

Prince has never been anything but gracious especially in the recent years regarding MJ. He even stated something akin to "MJ needs to be left alone and supported right now" during the last trial. Look at you holding Princ eup to some standard regarding everyday issues, judging him on what he says or if he says nothing. MJ has the rep of having crazy fans but this forum keeps probving Prince has some of the most idiotic. "So hopefully he'll show support..." WTF? Prince doesnt have to do a damn thing.

This is what you post about regarding MJ passing away?

Seriously: are some of you grown men? Please tell me you do not hold a job of some importance that has people's safety or livelihood at stake under your watch.

I wish more people would follow Prince's example and say nothing. I'm so sick of this culture of doing anything and everything in the media. Making public statements about how someone else's misery affects them. Be devastated privately, and don't feed the leeching, sensationalistic media machine that was responsible for much of the anxiety that pained the subject that you're so devastated about.

P.S. I am not alluding to fan forums where discussions are exchanged in the privacy of your home.

How do know he's silent, just becausee he hasn't made a public statement? Many celebrites have not, inclucing the ones that started his career at Motown.

Get away from what? Death is something that we all experience and a road we will eventually walk down.

I'm sure there are more important people in Prince's life that have passed on other than MJ, Hendrix, etc. Two for sure, his mother and father. No matter what they may have experienced as a family, I'm sure that their deaths affected him much more than MJ's ever would.

And exactly how many threads do we need on the same fucking thing?

Where are the threads about Prince being silent on other musical star threads?

On Farrah or Ed McMahon?

To me, the only thing P and MJ had in common was they were musical artists. I never got the comparison.

Idiotic statement? Well, while we're on the subject...

Remember Prince saying this in an interview with both Chris Rock and again with Larry King: "He [Mike] wanted me to do a duet with him on the song 'Bad'. The first lyric is 'Your butt is mine', now I don't know if he wanted me to sing that to him but he sho ain't gon' be singing that to me!"

I always thought that was kind of a dick thing to say. Would have been cooler to just say they had artistic differences or something. He came off as kind of homophobic.

And for the record, Prince doesn't have to say shit, he can be as silent as he wants regarding MJ. We all mourn losses differently and maybe Prince isn't mourning at all, but either way, it's his business, not ours.

That was on Chris Rock from the 90's interview. His last public statements were about leaving MJ alone and supporting him when he was going to trial. And when he gave that Rock interview it wasnt from a lace of malice, he was talking about it laughing while simply stating the situation. Just because he commented on the "butt is mine" lyric doesn't make him a dick, especially since he was 'asked." If anything MJ asking why in the world is his chimp wearing a Purple Rain shirt in his own long form video in which he had complete artistic control on the content is being more of a dick then simply discusing an amusing story.
