Did Prince make any public comments on the passing of James Brown?

Today's new about Michael Jackson got me wondering about when James Brown passed. Obviously James was a big influence on Prince and I'm wondering if he ever made any kind of comment on his passing?

I guess we will never know how Prince comments on a friend or a performer passing away.

I would think that only Prince's closest friends would know his feelings about these life events. cool

Well, in the title of the thread I did use the word "public." It's not uncommon for celebrities to issue press releases when someone they admire passes away.

If I can recall, being a JW, Prince is not allowed to attend funerals of non JW members.
Strange CULT!

I think it had said Rest in Peace James Brown or something like that. He did acknowledge it on the site cause it was the first thing you would see on 3121.com if you entered it at that time.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Everyone keeps saying this, but is it true? lol...As far as I know, JWs can indeed attend funerals, even if the people they're mourning weren't JWs themselves.
