Will Prince comment on MJ's passing?? Do we reckon Prince is going to come out and comment on Michael's passing? I think as his main "rival" for most of the eighties it would be nice if Prince broke his silence on this occasion just to say a few words.
Having said that, as sad as MJ's death is, I find it bizarre that so many celebrities are coming forth with such heartfelt messages of how much he meant to them....funny they were no where to be seen when Michael was going through his rough years. Not that I was a supporter of MJ through his bad patch but it takes something like his death for people to put actually say how they feel about him (or supposedly feel). God bless you for the music though MJ. www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Prince should at least pay some tribute 2 his contribution to their industry....If he dosent, well I dunno....it wouldnt put Prince in a good light at all concerning their alledged(?) rivalry in the 80's u know u want 2...so do it

Since Madge (Madonna) has paid tribute, I think Prince should break his silence. Those three held a very privileged position in the 80s.

sorry, but much as I love P, he nearly always lacks any sense of class or decency in these situations.Hope I'm proved wrong but ....

Why should he? Just because he's famous? Just because they had the same "job?"
Please. They weren't friends. What purpose would it serve for Prince to say something - except get his own name in the paper? (And you know that's how it'd look.) What is wrong with dignified silence? It is not up to Prince to feed this newscycle. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Genesia you don't know anything about the "friendship" between these two or the level of respect they may have for each other, I can't see Prince doing MJ songs and not liking the guy... He may have already spoken to the family via Private channels ...we just don't know. RIP MJ Da, Da, Da....Emancipation....Free..don't think I ain't..! London 21 Nights...Clap your hands...you know the rest..
James Brown & Michael Jackson RIP, your music still lives with us!

I would expect something to pop up on lotusflow3r.com maybe a picture or 'newspaper clipping' or something. I wouldn't expect Prince to make some huge statement, nor should he really. But they were peers and always linked in the media, so I would hope there was at least a sign of respect or mourning on lotusflower.

I should think chances are that Prince is still in bed. Some people are like Slinkies...
They're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

It doesnt matter in any way.
It is a tragedy that Michael Jackson has died but nobody 'should' or 'shouldnt' be obliged to pay tribute or make comment. Expectations from the media and the public about other artsits' reactions just detract from the real significance of what has happened.

Good point...also, it take his death and the flash back of his life of stardom constantly being played on t.v to show Prince FANS that MJ was THE greatest...not PRINCE! That being said..I do hope Prince comments and also attend the funeral of a fellow musician( not a rival).
