...now of course i know Rhnda has been playing with P 4 years,duh!...
but what i wanna know is,how did Prince discover these players? where did he find them?
it was cool watching Rhonda & Sheila E on LENOLENOLENOLENOLENO...since Rhonda played with the band on the Martin Short show,which was lead by Peter Escovido (if thats spelt correctly)...& he is Sheila's younger brother.that show was filmed in the same lot as LENOLENOLENOLENO i believe.

so yes on my 1st question & main point...WHERE,HOW,& why did he choose his current players?

I don't think it has been covered particularly in any interviews I've read or seen (I can't recall Rhonda covering it on The Upper Room but Joe Kelly might be able to help you out). Renato's interest / background in latin and jazz flavours probably helped given recent moves in Prince's music.
