my idea of heaven would be to drop in to paisley park while prince was recording a new song for his next studio album.
...i would just stand in the background and watch him recording and laying down some tracks. he then comes over to me and says to me " hey rab, how about putting some keyboard on this new song" i think about it for about half a millisecond and then say, casually, "yeh, ok"
...i then walk over to his piano and start playing some chords (not very well but who cares). after some time bashing away, he says "thats great rab, just what i needed, come on in to the booth and we'll mix this mother down"
...i then sit next to the mixing desk while prince starts to get a final mix of the song , i sit there trying not to let my mouth hit the floor.
...once the song is complete, we listen to it and some other unreleased stuff and he asks me what i think of them, we then talk about whatever for a few hours before i thank him and gently float out the door at paisley park and back to reality.
