Will Prince's masters go up for auction in 2012 for him to buy back or will he own them outright at that time?

the story always cracks me up, because even tho i love the beatles, i find paul mcc so irritating, (almost as much as bono).


if WB effectively owns all of Prince's classic back-catalogue. Why haven't they released them as remasters?. They would make so much money! I always thought Prince had regained ownership and thats why we would never get remasters.

Do WB also not have loads of Prince unreleased stuff as well, like the original crystal ball and dream factory - even roadhouse garden? and many single tracks as well. so why don't they release them>?

WB can't issue remasters without Prince's agreement. Their "ownership" of
Prince's back catalogue is only the ownership of the right to manufacture and
distribute the released albums "as is". They cannot make changes to those
albums without Prince's permission (so they can't add tracks or remaster them).
They also don't have the right to issue any previously unreleased tracks or
albums.
