It is 1968 Minneapolis, 10 year old poor, afro wearing little Prince- on the streets of Minneapolis, in a phone booth outside of a a McDonalds talking to his dad in tears as he pleads to move back in with him. (P described this in an interview back in 85'). The movie could then show his early years of developement with hours of time alone learning piano/guitar..moving to/from different residences.etc...and of course his friendship w/Cymone and how he hooked up w/Morris and the others...The over all theme of the film will be his relationship with his father and of course the music. The sex thing would be there too, but it would reveal that p used sex more for his show/songs/and to control. He wasnt the nympho people thought he was. 1968 is a bit early for the afro, only Huey Newton and Sly may have had one that early and I know the Jackson 5 did not aff out until late 1969. I would say he had a soulful Marvin Gaye style short box cut and a turtleneck sweater for 68 or a head shaped fuzz with side burns like that guy from Friends of Distincton. Really to me 69 was the year the afro got going with Link Hayes and the like So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over.
