LotusFlow3r- gaining sales again?!?!

On this weeks hot R&B Billboard album charts, the 3cd set has jumped to number 33- from last week's 60! I assume this means it might have also re-entered the Billboard 200, though only the top 100 positions are viewable on the Billboard website.

Does anyone know why sales have increased week on week? Or what the soundscan total is to date?

I listened to again - I previously dug MPLSound more than Lotus Flow3r (more danceable, poppy, with good hooks), but on repeated listen to Lotus, I'm starting to enjoy it a lot more. It usually takes me a few listens to Prince albums to really get into them, but these two took a lot longer than previously (can't say I ever got into Planet Earth or 3121, though).

Like most Prince music it does take repeated listening a lot of the songs have really good hooks and P still knows his away around a groove unlike a lot of artist today.

I am not surprised this CD is still hanging around and if just got off his ass and promoted it more it would more even higher on the chart. Perhaps it will get a little push it the Jazz concert is televised or he does some concert dates.

Me either. I think a lot of it is fueled by bitterness and resentment of many things not having to do with the music but with the man. A lot of these folks here are just plain crazy. It took me 10 years to realize this but now I know it. neutral sad

In spite of them, I still love the CD's. I hope P does something to remind the world that he released something this year and that it is worth a damn for them to pick up at their local Target stores.

They are not reviewing the music but actions by P they don't like which for some people is ridiculous considering no one has been sued but sent cease and desist orders to take down content they don't own in the first place which is nothing that any other copyright owner is not doing these days. In fact some copyright owners have pressed criminal charges against people something that P has not done.

I have sympathy for people who spent the $77.00 on the website but I am not one of those people and I am not going to deprive myself of listening to good music because someone was not a smart consumer. You don’t pay for something if you don’t know what you are getting up front. I hope he can correct this mess and put some content up soon.

Yes lots of bitter folk who lives seem to hang on every grunt and groan that prince makes. They hate what he does as a person and seem to also hate the music yet they are seemly obsessed with following his every move. it is insane.

Absolutely. While I wish Prince would ease up on his legal stuff, I understand that its his stuff. I'm one of the members of Lotusflow3r.com and I had a feeling this would happen. I told friends in January that the possibility of there being much of nothing may happen but I paid the $77 because I am a fan and I wanna be a part of what Prince is doing. I'm went in expecting the best but ready for the worst. That's part of why I'm not steaming mad about where the site is right now.

I don't like what's happening with the site but there is nothing I can do about it. I also know that this is a year-long subscription so something may come tomorrow. So again, I'm ready for the best but ready for the worst too. A lot of people didn't go into this with that mindset, and as a result, we got what we have here now. Not excusing Prince at all for what's happening but we should all know who we are dealing with. I'm not mad at anyone who didn't join or anyone who did but it's what it is.

Then they get butthurt if you ask them why they are here. It makes no sense to be on a site for someone who you can't stand. It's bad on YOU, not on Prince. It's definately insane. neutral

gotta say-i like that bit about expecting the worst.

I REALLY wasn't expecting where we are at all-i'd never have joined if i did think that way. Probably where im going wrong-and this is not a dig at you-but thesedays-I should EXPECT the worst with Prince-then if he manages to not go that way-i should be pleased

man thats depressing-but i guess actually true-and probably a better way than i'm currenty utilising.

Not sure i'll ever change that part of me though. I don't wanna be a cynic-i want to be excited at new releases etc-i don't think i could follow someone by expecting the worst

lol-man i love the way New Yorkers think-sadly-i think you can tell i'm in the suburbs. I need some city attitude wink

I was wondering what happen to the promotion of this album. He did like what two weeks?? Nothing was released not even a video!! Why would that be? (don't answer that)
I tried to get people to listen to some of the songs but with nothing visual to relate to there is no fanfare.
I like the album for what it is....but I'm disappointed that it had NO airplay...none to my knowledge. Is Prince music so far out of the loop that people just don't care?

You look at MJ music and we know the hits we know what we felt like listening to the music. The pass few weeks has introduce millions of just how great he was if you didn't know this already.
I'm bringing MJ up because the general public really are CLUELESS as to just how many albums Prince has! You all have seen the pics of MJ's releases...could you imagine that same image celebrating Prince.....UGH mad the thought of it makes me sick! What a shame that all of that talent is being wasted and that only a few die hards really know or care about the true genius in Prince.

That's really amazing considering the lack of promotion he's given this project. It's depressing to see him do a lot of nothing behind this great CD set but great to see that it's still in the Top 100 of the charts.

He is not with a major record label so he will not get any radio airplay or video play. The system does not work that way and I am pretty sure P knew that when he realized he would have to put this CD out independently.

You got the right attitude. If I had joined (and I may do so later) I would feel the way you do. I took my chance when I signed up since nothing was promised outside of T-Shirt. I can't figure out why other people don't see it this way and are we really dealing with a generation of total non-thinkers?

Since your comments are geared towards what I had to say, I will say this, I treat all artists the same way. Anything can happen with them or with a project. You can go to a concert hoping to see them and then minutes before the show starts, they announce it's been canceled for whatever reason. Shit happens but life must continue. I don't place any expectations on an artist, including Prince. I HOPE that the music or the things I hear from them is worth a damn and if it is, I will support them. If not, then I pass it and I keep it moving. I choose to be a fan of the person or not. I live in reality with these sort of things and if this is a New Yorker way of thinking, then it pays to be from the Big Apple, the greatest city in the world! wink lol
