If you were put in charge of the whole Prince enterprise what ONE thing would you do?

For me I would release a Prince BoxSet similar to The Beatles boxset. The whole collection of official CD releases, remastered and in expanded editions featuring b-sides, extended mixes and out takes.

The completist in me wants it to have every CD spanning his career, the realist in me will settle for WB to do it with the albums they have rights to.

So what would be your one thing?

I would be a MEAN editor of Prince's work. I would cherry pick a small number of bad ass tracks and release a 10 song album every other year. Every year I would put a new album of super obscure stuff for hardcore fans only up on Lotus Flower. And a hip replacement

Where would I begin? First, I would take care of Prince's health! Prince has become way to thin for anyone to not start wondering if it is the pain he is in, or something else horrible, like cancer. Next, I would post an apology on the site, for the t-shirt delinquency and for the limited updates, with an explanation. Finally,after Prince is healthy, I would book a tour,to exemplify the great new 3-CD set!

1 - remasters - everything thru emancipation
2 - release SOTT and Livesexy on DVD
3 - do MTV unplugged and dont play any jazz
4 - create a huge pr campaign about how his brilliance is so much deeper then just the hits that people know from the radio.
5 - new tour = small venues = lots of demand = each night perform a classic album from start to completion and throw in the b-sides and outtakes.
5 - release the best of the vault (and only the best of the best)
6 - start cursing and being dirty again
7 - tour small venues - focus on ROCk and Funk no jazz, no horns
8 - no more covers, no more covers, no more covers (especially larry graham stuff)
9 - dump larry graham

oh release a limited edition vinyl version of LotusFlow3r

Completely restyle the website and o.a. make more live material available

Easy... sort out his back-catalogue (and any record company issues) and get
his albums remastered and reissued along the lines of the recent U2 or Cure
reissues. With great packaging, extensive liner notes and bonus tracks.
I'd also sort out a box set to launch the reissue series as well as DVD issues
as well. There's so much potential there, it's annoying to see it all in limbo.

3 songs of older material in ur live shows from now on ..and don't let ONE OF THEM B PURPLE RAIN/LET'S GO CRAZY/ 1999

do a documentary on the recording process 4 an album (like bruce did 4 his latest album) ..thus it brings fans and non fans in2 ur creative process and show's ur genius in the studio.

last but not least, restructure ur current website 2 allow people 2 chose what type of membership they want instead of one way or nothing.

I would only allow him to play the songs I like at concerts

Seriously, I would release a 25 anniversary edition of Purple Rain with pictures from the recording session and the concerts and let Prince in his own words tell the story of how the album and movie were conceived. I would release gems from the vault on a new album titled The Vault: Old Gems For Sale. I would make him do more interviews and go on more TV shows to promote his new albums. I would also try really hard to get his music back on the radio, where it belongs.

Finally, on a more personal note, I would try to make him rethink his commitment to the Jehovah's Witnesses by telling it like it is.

If I was in charge...I'd just tell Prince when it was bedtime...and he'd listen to me...
