Did you go to the Celebration?...because if you did you got another perk out of your membership. Also, I feel that Minneapolis orgers have absolutely no cause for complaint because Prince has truly given us a lot in the past. I've seen hundreds of shows for free or $7.

Nope, didn't go to the celebration [didn't have $250, make that $500 to have my beloved go with me] and really couldn't get away from my new job for a week.
The perk that I got for the year was the ability to buy a Days of Wild CD single. . . [oh and I got 2 piano discs]. I signed up for the discs. . .wish I would have known that the stores would have the same stuff for a lot less. . . Actually I haven't been to any Paisley Park performances and I don't see how past performances equate charging people in the present. . .

Definately. I could never make up for all the Paisley Park, Aftershows, and Glam Slam freebies...I couldn't even count them! Good reminder for me.

Actually I haven't been to any Paisley Park performances and I don't see how past performances equate charging people in the present. . . I'm not going to get into any (more) arguments with people, but I feel that as far as the membership was concerned that people should have looked at the big picture and their own situation before signing up. If you live in Minnesota you would know that your only chance to see him on tour would be during the Celebration which means that more then likely you were not going to be able to partake in the soundchecks and aftershows that were some of the best perks to many people. If you were not going to go to the Celebration that means you only signed up for the cd's and if you were worried about getting ripped off I think it would have been wise to do as Ian (Our Prince.org Moderator did) and wait until the end of the year to sign up. It clearly said that no matter when you signed up you would receive the same 4 cd's as everyone else. So being as you weren't going to the Celebration or any concerts then it might have made sense until the shipping began to see if you were going to get your money's worth. Also, I guess another big issue is whether or not the piano disc is included in the retail set. But hey at least you at least have legitimate complaints and aren't acting like a psycho expressing them.

It doesn't To the Minneapolis people it does because the tour doesn't make stops here meaning that we don't get soundchecks or aftershows (at least not in the traditional sense). I'm still hoping for another Paisley show soon, but if they are over I'll be okay with everything I've seen in the past. . [This message was edited Sat Dec 14 12:20:37 PST 2002 by lovemachine]

You know, the live set is really good. I finally got it last week.
I have little to complain about as I knew I was gambling with my money. Even after discs were named, I should have known that he would change his mind. The discs are good, just kind of torked that they are already in a shop for what seems to be a pretty low price. Has every NPGMC member received their set yet?

I feel you on the hometown perks aspect etc..having shows, events etc that are readily available for the immediate surroundings for next to nada etc..but that does not give anyone the right to give poor services or less merchandise to the locals compared to people around the world etc. Once a club etc. becomes a business it should be fair and equal to all as much as possible regardless. Not all businesses do that but it shold be strived for. And I agree that the brunt of some of the disappointments may not be as harsh to those in his area, but that is almost like a cop out for him etc. . Especially when non-members get the same thing.

Whether or not the club membership fee was a value is up to each individual to decide, just as with every other service or good that's sold...arguing whether or not it's a "good value" is useless in my eyes...I only really care about if what was promised was delivered...and in my eyes, 4 CDs were promised as part of membership...I could say that we've recieved 3 of those CDs--ONA, ONA Live and It's Not Over...so I'm still expectin' anudder CD from the man, dad gummit... 8)

Ok, so it's true that a non-member has managed to get the CD before some members. I am still awaiting mine here in Cheltenham, UK.
