"Black MF in the house" appreciation Not a big fan of the "goldnigga" album ("johnny" is good fun but it goes on for tooooo long) but I've been playing "black mf" alot recently for some reason? It has a energy about it, and the production and horns are tight. I like Carmen Electra's vocals aswell ("oh my god!") LOL.
I dont know why, but I find Prince's opening "dont you hate it when a nigga's in the house" amusing. Not sure why LOL. I wonder who's doing some of those other redneck voices? And Tony is actually quite funny on this track aswell. A highlight for sure! | |

I think this is one of the best songs that Prince has ever done. Who would have ever thought about diving into a subject like this? I went to lunch with some of my white co-workers not long ago, and played this song on my iPod. They were amazed!! They aren't Prince fans like me, but they were surprised that Prince would go the distance and do a song with this subject matter. They rocked to the beat, dug the lyrics, and really liked the ending where NPG says "Stop Racism Now." My sincere desire is for Prince to go back to his funky haphazard style of song writing and put some good material out there. Nothing he is doing today compares to the music he put out when he dropped the name Prince and became the Symbol. It's A Real Mother For Ya

Glad someone loves it as much as me. Shame the album itself is rather incohesive. "Call the law" was a few years old back then, and terrible LOL. The intro sounds too much like Geore Clintons "why should I dog you out" aswell, which bugs me. "Guess who's knockin'" is OK though, thanks to the catchy interpolation of the wings track. | |

Prince is genius. Don't ever say that he doesn't have a great sense of humor and wit. Some of his songs (like this one) just form a movie in your mind.  | |
