PURPLE RAIN on the big screen in NYC The Film Society of Lincoln Center is doing an all-musical weekend for the 4th of July, and they're showing Purple Rain at midnight on July 3rd at the Walter Reade theatre in NYC.
I hope this is enough advance notice for any NYC orgers or Atlantic Northeasters who would want to check it out. I have no idea what the print will be like, but the Walter Reade is one of the finest cinemas in the U.S. Once upon a time in a haystack of despair; happiness sometimes hard to find, yeah.

How is it out of date? No more out of date than classics and cut classics from the 50's 60's & 70's That's what makes it soooo good, a totally different time from where we are, where exciting things were happening in a Purple subculture

People do this with other types of movies these days too not just musical (Wrath Of Khan springs to mind) If you can go, do so. I think it'd be alot of fun. Not my bag, but i could see the fun in it.
