Footwork on Leno

Okay, 1 million threads on Leno, so what's another one...

The biggest thing my wife and I noticed about the performance was how much dancing he did while playing guitar throughout the song. Watch the man's feet during the song -- incredible! We saw him in Houston in April and he did not do that much moving and did not do the "jump up and down" bit. He rocked nonetheless, but he looked much more like an energetic jumpy dude on Leno than we remember at our concert. Anyone agree?

I noticed how pointy and white his shoes were. So tell me, is he just a really talented Keebler Elf?

Definitely agree with you Doozer. It wasn't just the playing it was the whole showmanship thing that made the Leno performance special. After I saw that performance it was like "now THAT'S why I'm a Prince fan!" It wasn't just the footwork, it was also the little head movements, crouching while playing guitar, the screaming... EVERYTHING.

I saw the ONA tour on it's first leg of the U.S. tour and the show I saw in concert was very tamed. It seemed that Prince was more concerned with the band playing everything right than he was with just relaxing and performing. Then when I saw him again at Xenophobia it was very evident that the band and Prince had gotten that much more "seasoned" in what they were doing. Then last night on Leno it was like "yeah, he's got his groove". It's very obvious that Prince has become very comfortable not having to rely on his classic hits to put on a great show... and that's a good thing.

i can honestly say i love his footwork. he was practically tappin up there. smile they all looked great

and sheila e was amazing! she got a lot of camera time, more than prince actually. weird but she was good. except, at the end when she dropped the cymbal kinda early

the guests who went before prince kinda ran on which was a shame because it would've been cool to see prince and leno speak.

I agree, XxAxX! Heck, when the band started, the camera was on Sheila and the band more during the first 15 seconds or so than it was on Prince.

I thought for sure Leno was going to mention when ONA live would be available there at the end -- but he had the Silent Bob dude's DVD and not Prince's CD there on the stage.

He should've had some "NPG Musiclub" Signage in the backdrop(background setting). Prince has so many CD's in stores that it's hard to figure what's actually "new". If a casual fan wants to buy something after seeing the show, they must find ONA on display. I'll scan the whole show with "Closed Caption" to see if Leno mentions ONA.
