I've always been fond of this song too! His vocals are smooth, haungtingly beautiful, and melancholy.

Brilliant song! So bittersweet, quirky, clever and interesting. The vocal arrangement, instrumentation, lyrics and baroque mood are incredible. I wish he would do more of these ditties.
I love how he blames Dionne for the broken relationship throughout the song until the end when he finally realizes it may have been his fault all along. What a beautiful song. Definately in my top ten. | |

I agree. The Truth is an underrated Prince album. In fact, few people realize that Prince has released peculiar and unusual records like: The Truth One Nite Alone Xpectation These are the products that should reach a wider range of audience. | |

I put on "The Truth" for "Don’t Play Me" and "Dionne"
