We know - its quite obvious. He views the birth of a child as a "gift from god" - simple. The reason it is not Nativity is because "Nate" is not and never has been an abbreviation of the word Nativity. Nate is only an abbreviation of the name Nathaniel and nothing else. Suggesting that Prince is implying he is going to give birth to the Second Coming is pretty ludicrous.....even for Prince! And the "Native American" theory is simply stretching it further. The song is an apocalyptical message, of pending armageddon and that final line is there as a reminder of the sanctity of life.....not an illogical leap in to the (virtuous) world of reminding about the plight of indigenous peoples! (similarly, I don't think Prince is suggesting that his offspring could be regarded as Native American either  ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
