how people think prince is gay is beyond me. Hes very, VERY much not lol.

I dress very feminine, boot cut, tight black trousers, glittery scarfs, women's necklaces, pointy, clashing shoes, eye liner, face powder, i use women's products to take care of myself like, sensual oils, moisturises, lip care, straighteners for my hair, i wear tight shirts and jah knows what else! Women just have 200x better selections than men. Plus, i dislike trend following.

And man, im obsessed with women, gotta be around em 24/7 and you know what? The girls love it. Its different.

Also, who said all this is gay exclusive? Only one so sure of himself can be totally free 'Uptown'.

There's something sexy about a guy dressing like that and I don't know what the hell it is, but Prince was right when he said he wears high heels because the women love it. Go figure.

The way Prince dressed back then way pretty much the way most rock and rnb dudes dressed too. It was the times (see Rick James). If people thought he was gay just off that, they need to go back and look.

That look was a reaction to the "bedenimed" 70s....all flared jeans, long skanky hair w/ huge side boards/beards. Dudes in the 70s had what I used to think of as the "Wolfman Jack look".

If prince was gay he would be telling the world about it since day one....

Prince said it himeself in his first interview with rolling stone...

"I am not jamie starr and I am not gay"

And his track record proves this....beeing well known of his woman to woman status....Dude just loves woman...

And if he was gay I could care less....

And, people don't label Prince gay just because he's dressed in women's clothing and makeup and gotten his hair done in ways usually associated with women for decades.

His demeanor often is incredibly shy, passive and quiet-spoken. The sensitivity so many of his female fans here rave about, coupled with those traits, can cause a lot of folks to think of him as being, well, girlish.

And, he's modeled behavior seen by other male celebrities/entertainers -- say, Liberace and Little Richard -- who are gay.

And, Jakeasaurus, you raise an excellent point! lol

This thread is beatdeadhorse
It has been done to death, it is a stupid generalisation about gay people and Prince
When will people realise that not every gay person has to be like Carson Kressly, Boy George, Julian Clary, Graham Norton, Lypsinka and any of the characters out of Too Wong Foo or the Birdcage.
Everymonth or so a Prince's sexuality thread comes up under a different guise. Just because the guy is of a small and delicate frame, is well dressed and sartorially eloquent and not living up to the ultra macho gangsta rapper image expected of black men in some circles, he has to be labelled as gay. Why is gay so bad anyway, why does anyone actually care

Little Richard -- grappling with extremely overtly feminine behavior, and in his case, homosexual desires, and coming from a religious background where the repression of all his stuff seemed fundamental. Prince has borrowed a lot of his look, schtick and musical sense from Little Richard.

And, when Richard isn't blasting on 10 and acting over the top, you'd be surprised how sensitive and pensive he can be.

But, again, Prince's flamboyance owes a lot to gay entertainers like Liberace and Little Richard.

And, back to the religious thing for a moment: I doubt Prince -- given his religious background and current affiliation -- would ever come out as gay.

Looks like two pages worth of people feel otherwise.

Besides, sex and sexual attraction are still current topics of his songwriting. That he continues to cast women as the objects of those topics, while displaying such overtly feminine characteristics is very much a relevant topic on a Prince forum.

Kill the argument. Some people will ignore the obvious and continue to stir up controversy to get you riled up. It doesn't matter if other people think he's gay, we know differently just let them wallow in their simple-mindedness.

Good point but it's beyond hysterical the double standards Prince fans have when it comes to believing other musical stars are straight.

I totally disagree with your opening statement. Society is a World, and it is only some individuals in the world that make these statements or accuasations...Ur post even has to take responsibility for contributing to a false idea.

Prince has made it loud and clear in his music that he is not a homosexual. Cheerful in his ways...sure why not. Prince is a versatile performer and that ability to flambuoyant with his personality is definitely in his blood. Prince's depth should never be limited to a label of any kind.

Prince should be respected as a musician and a spiritual man that is ever-changing and open to the public's judgements. God Bless Him. cool

well ,i never, ever seen anyone in the 70s dress like this(rick james?)...i joked with my mom with this pic..told her this dude IS straight : ) wont repeat her response...anyway..when i say society, you're all taking it out of context..guess i should've said NON PRINCE FANS..cause if i wasnt a fan, seeing this pic i would say the same GAY LIKE BOY GEORGE...could you blame me, or any non fans out there? and btw, gay / straight / bi/ really dont care..just like the music and the vibe he brings..just trying to make a point...people out there (alot of them )see him that way, so despite the hundreds of song he sings about women..that doesnt change theire views...George michael sang about women and made millions and he IS gay.
