While Michael reportedly wants Prince Michael, 12, to enjoy his childhood, the record-setting Thriller legend is diligently training the preteen to make an impact on the charts in the next few years.

A Jackson Camp insider tells In Touch Weekly: Michael has been voice-coaching him and asked to do a duet with Prince on his tour.

Not copyright but it would be an interesting trademark case. It is, after all, the kid's real name.

Copyright infringement? Nah, that's BS. If the kid's name is Prince then I think if he wants to use that as his name it's fine.

i think thats EXTREMELY WRONG of Michael Jackson to do something like that. i hope he corrects that course of action. i wouldn't want anyone in the future to confuse Prince with someone else or someone else's music!!!! And/or Prince's music to credited to someone other than himself.
Besides, i would think that someone as original as Michale Jackson would be able to creat a unique image for his son rather than trying to copy Prince!

This is like Mommy Dearest. You adopt an Aryan child and you torture it. Sure it makes for very bad parenting, but the movie that they're going to make out of the book Prince Micheal writes will be AMAZING.

He wouldn't be able to be called just Prince. Especially as Prince is a very established artist obviously, and Equity and the US equivalent wouldn't allow it.

That's why you get actors using middle initials. i.e. Samuel L Jackson, Richard E Grant, Michael J Fox, because there's already someone in the same line of work with the same name, so a distinction has to be made. But he would be fine to use Prince Michael or Prince Jackson. I don't think there's anything Prince could do about that. for example Prince Buster, The Fresh Prince...
