PURPLE RAIN on the big screen in NYC

The Film Society of Lincoln Center is doing an all-musical weekend for the 4th of July, and they're showing Purple Rain at midnight on July 3rd at the Walter Reade theatre in NYC.

I hope this is enough advance notice for any NYC orgers or Atlantic Northeasters who would want to check it out. I have no idea what the print will be like, but the Walter Reade is one of the finest cinemas in the U.S.
Once upon a time in a haystack of despair; happiness sometimes hard to find, yeah.

That movie looks hilarious now it's so out of date. But the music is still okay.

How is it out of date?

No more out of date than classics and cut classics from the 50's 60's & 70's

That's what makes it soooo good, a totally different time from where we are, where exciting things were happening in a Purple subculture

Exactly, Face it, PR is a cheesy classic. get a full house of die hard fans and PR becomes another 'Sound of Music/Rocky Horror' sing/talk along. People do this with other types of movies these days too not just musical (Wrath Of Khan springs to mind)

If you can go, do so. I think it'd be alot of fun.

Not my bag, but i could see the fun in it.
