He had the full band, eric leeds, sheila, rhonda, etc. they all looked good, especially sheila.

the performance was great. not my fav song, but great performance of it nonetheless. Great guitar solo too.

I always thought of sheila as being shy and reserved. She was runnin right up there with prince banging on the cymbals like she was in a heavy metal band. she threw her legs up on the bongos too. at the end she threw the whole cymbal set on the floor.

great one, dont miss it.

I thought it was really good. I wished that they would talk with him and find out more info and stuff. Do you think he would actually talk about things on tv? I Fall in love with that smile of his ever time I see it. ... Sorry had to say it. wink

Fantastic. The song is truly great live, and though it was way too short, he knows how to leave us viewers salivating for more. Everytime I see him perform live in person or on TV I'm consistently wowed. He and the band are at the top of their game.

Just watched it. ITS VERY GOOD. Whish it was longer and whish he would have sang more. I think his performances are always mind blowing compared to most other musical acts, but not the best he can do. Very fun performance but not very passionate and intense, but those are just my thoughts...

The song is preachy, but he did not do any of his preaching where he talks to everyone over the music. It is a spiritual song and super funky. Probably his tightest television performance ever. I still like Come On the best with the h rap brown rap over the credits. Everyone was dressed 2 the 9s. Prince looked the best he ever has. Great suit. I hope some day he will do a ten minute 1+1+1=3 on TV.

Disappointing for an artist with the talent and history of Prince. He's a great musician; that he banged out great muscianship is not shocking or unexpected.

I need to see him do something higher and more amazing than this.

Despite the guest musicians, it was a forgettable presence and performance. And the song choice as I've previously stated was not a good one. The lyrics are simplistic and too religiously constraining.

He looked great -- face, hair, attire. He seemed really happy. But again, this is a low point on the arc of his career. It's time for a zenith performance and a zenith album.

I wish him the best and hope in the future he can shake the lullaby of religion and wake up to some amazing work that is so cohesively strong people won't have to say "Ignore the lyrics."

It was alright...Everlasting Now is not the song I hoped he would perform though...especially if you're trying to reach non-Prince fans to listen...

Interesting opinion...Glad to read someone reaching a little deeper into the overall situation. Some performances years ago were truly mindblowing. I haven't seen that in a long time from such a "former" electric
live performer. He seems to have "mellowed" to an extent, BUT he is 44 years of age now. We will probably look back and say..."wow, he knew what he was doing all along"...smile

I agree. The performance was fun and good, but not GREAT. He's always tight, so tonight was nothing new. Nice to see some old friends again, too. But I would love to hear a new cache of more moving songs as well

Truth is I guess what seemed mindblowig then to u is now diffrent think for a minute he is aging BUT that has nothing to do with ones' ability to perform especially for a man like prince. He looks like he has not aged ...I guess his spiritual aura is taking him to a different direction and maybe he will lose some fams along the way and pick up others its all on the way one looks a things maybe this performance was mind-blowing to some but to others who are used to see Prince's other side think tonight's performance to be bad..all in all the man is still a genius in evolution...

I'm amazed at how hard it is for some fans to rationally assess a performance without getting emotionally drunk.

Love for Prince is great. Being reasonable is better.

Any real connoisseur of Prince music can use the fingers and toes of 10 friends to rattle off performances (even TV ones) that far surpass this.
