From the new issue of Uptown...

#####

Lawsuit settled

The lawsuit brought by Levi Seacer Jr. and Tony Mosley against Prince
has been settled. They ended up with approximately $40,000 each
(apparently, not even enough to pay their legal expenses), having sued
Prince for $800,000. The lawsuit was filed in October 1998, claiming
that Prince hadn’t shared royalties that Levi and Tony were owed for
songs they had co-written for Prince’s NPG Publishing, including "Sexy
MF" and "My Name Is Prince."

As of 2001/2, Prince still owed some Revolution members monies from royalties, etc. He finally relented and paid a certain member some money, and said, in short, "You're on your own after this. I'm not keeping track of all this anymore." So whatever that means. But the band member said they still didn't get quite what they were owed. I noticed last night in the W&L video chat, when asked about money, they both kind of laughed and had a mental "throwing up of the hands", seemingly indicating that they weren't fully paid either.

From what I remember, Levi was reserved for Paisley Park after a period of time, he wasn't happy with it and later abandoned the spot with just a note. Never heard of since,

It was said he released some Vault music before he left in retaliation...

levi has done work with the sounds of blackness after he left paisley
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
