the musicanship was tight but I thought the song&performance was just kind of there IMHO.if it wasn't for Shelia E. i might have fallen asleep.glad too see Eric Leeds back though.I'm glad Prince can play the Groove too MJ's "Burn this Disco Out" but that doesn't make it a Great song as it's a tight Groove."Ballad of Dorothy Parker" from Last Year was far Better of the 3 Performances He has done on Leno IMHO.

Anyone that makes a comparison between this song and "Burn This Disco Out" obviously has no comparison skills whatsoever. You would have gone to sleep, big deal...who are you anyway. Your screen name should be Mr. Opinionated, you make some of the most ignorant comparisons I have ever read. By the way why must you compare everything. Most of your posts are teena marie vs. britney spears, led zepplin v. rolling stones, earth wind and fire v. gap band...whats up with all the comparisons??
I Don't know you&don't really care too.you gonna call me Ignorant.FUCK YOU!your Mamma&Daddy was Ignorant to even Bring your Punk Ass into the World BIOTCH!!!I Compare&Say what I dig if you don't like it then don't read it.take that too the Bank BYIOTCH!!!

The song says "Accurate knowledge of Christ and the Father will bring the everlasting now." There's nothing in it that says go to the Kingdom Hall. The average viewer would not think twice about it being a song of Jehovah Witness faith. I think some people are over reacting here.
For a song to be that funky and well received and still talk about God is just great I think.

i know i'm being close-minded about the JW beliefs and i apologize. it's just, i've been singing along to prince music for YEARS ands for the first time ever i just . . . can't anymore. i just can't get behind what he's singing. i'm playing ONA live in my car and driving, singing up a storm then he gets to those lines in muse to the pharaoh or in everlasting now and i'm all like 'huh!? wtf he talkin about?'

i dunno. almost any track from TRC is the least easy to sing along to because the lyrics get . . hard to follow. imo.

Geez, Dorothy, why don't you tell him how you REALLY feel?
I know, however some people on this site irk me. They honestly have nothing to gripe about, however they have to find SOMETHING, some flaw the rest of us must have somehow overlooked. It amazes me how the most opinionated people have never contributed anything to society. They just compare, contrast, and state how it could have been better if someone else had done this with a talent that the "critic" doesn't possess. And how do I know this critic doesn't possess this talent, because they post on everyone else's site about other people's abilities. If you are so good and could do better I would love to see you on Leno, but then again if you were a musician I probably would have seen or heard of you somewhere other than a message board. I have no problem with constructive critiques or discussion, but I do have a problem with people that want to nit-pick about something they couldn't do if their lives depended on it.IMHO
This is not really accurate. There are a lot of musicians that may ever get signed to a contract{let alone appear on Jay Leno}. The same can be said about basketball players. There are some talented players out there that can really shhot the rock but they'll never be in the NBA. There are many variables as to why this is so but anyway...

The Performance On Jay Leno.

I thought LIL MAN's performance was great considering the time length and Shelia did her thing{and she loooked great to boot}.

Does anyone know if this is going to be on UK TV and at what time?

Not sure we get NBC though.
