Empty Room - when exactly is it from? Just saw the video online and it looks like C&D/TGE-era... am I right?
This is a great track... would've fit perfectly onto C&D - such a shame it was never officially released. You guys got any info for me on this song???

Prince wrote some songs for James L. Brooks's 1993 I'll Do Anything. "Empty Room" was one of them. "The Rest of My Life," and "My Little Pill" are 2 others.

No, the above reply is correct: it was written in the mid-80's, then reworked in the 90s for both I'll Do Anything, and (apparently) the video version.

He wrote it after a fight with Susannah, apparently. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The 1995 version IS pretty much the 1985 version, as stated by Michael Bland on this website a couple of years ago. The 1993 "I´ll Do Anything" sessions version was a reworked and very short piano version. They used the 1985 version´s basic tracks for the 1995 version that could be seen and heard during the Ultimate Live Experience/Gold Experience tour in 1995.
They played that video and a couple of other videos on a silver screen before the concerts.(Zannalee, 18 & Over, Empty Room, Same December etc.). " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Correct, its about Susannah, and Wendy did lead vocals, it was going to be on the Dream Factory, but Prince scrapped it after he disbanded the revolution So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Empty Room
Re-recorded for the I'll Do Anything soundtrack, this haunting, somber medium-paced rock song uses a three chord repetition with no chorus. Prince is wondering how he is going to fill his empty room after being deserted. A second version is closer to the original version recorded in 1985. DTT says this...
