He wasn't rapping.
Sexy MF, The Pope, and stuff from D&P were though. He changed his style from mimicking Chuck D. and MC Hammer  to flat out mimicking some quazi west coat Snoop Dog/Tupac craziness on the God Experience (including 18 & over), to some weird Shabba Ranks shit on Rave Un2/In2.
I don't know enough about rap to say he's terrible or not. He certainly doesn't always sound terrible to me. Though talking shit and evoking gansta brovado (wtf is up with the gun mic? ) in silky draws and cleopatra eyeliner makes it kind of funny.

I have to give him props though. "I got a mind full of good intentions and a mouth full of raisonettes" is the best line EVER!!! It shows he can be quite funny when he wants to be. That shit cracked me up so bad. | |
