Ok I really didn't see Prince on Jay Leno until a few minutes ago.

sad I guess I was being a bit presumptous. I didn't have a very good feeling after I saw the Jay Leno Show. Jay Leno's jokes were racial, and he let one of his guest imply the word "nigger" as comedy. Why would Prince peform on a show that called him a "nigger" on national TV. And exactly when did someone actually promote ONA LIVe? AT the end of the performance, I heard Kevin Smith's CD being promoted. Prince, why can't you loose the heels and the bell bottoms? Your suit pants looked like a pair of pants i would wear. It reminded me of a long dress. The music was the only postive part about the entire appaerance.. As a matter fact it was the most perferct song for the mood. Does Prince truly believe what preaches, or is he so desperate money that he'll rob his fan base because he knows his die hards fans will buy whatever he produces? Flame away because whether or not i got it twisted, I will never feel good about what I saw! mad

Huh? Like Prince could forsee what guests were going to say..he was a scheduled performer. And even so I dont think he was sitting in the green room watching on the monitor eating apples. And who called Prince "nigger" on national tv?

I just wish people would shut the fu*k up and stop whining and complaining. Go back to your bible and shut up. Jay was hilarious and Prince and the band were right on.

whoa! at least back up your claim with what was actually said. I watched the show and didn't hear/see anything remotely close to what you're talking about. Lose the heels and bell bottoms? If you ain't used to his fashion sense by now...how is it you're even still here? LOL who cares if his pants are bell bottoms or not? rolleyes
you even said yourself that the music was tight...shouldn't that be all that matters?

Could youplease clarify who implied this and how they did so? I have no memory of that and that is definitely something I'd remember.

I was in the audience and none of what SummerRain said is valid. It just didn't happen.

Leno, was making a bunch of Black jokes which were Stupid. Prince looked Great and his pants and shoes are Cool. He shouldn't lose the High Heels. He looked Dapper as always with his suit. You are just Jealous of Him. The song Everlasting Now was Phenomenal and you know Leno never said the N-word my friend, but you Just Did so I think you are talking S***!

Huh? Jay Leno hasn't been funny for about 10 years. His brand of mediocrity is killing late night tv.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I agree with you completely squirrelgrease. But if it keeps us seeing Prince on TV, I say keep Jay on the job.

I wish Prince would suck it up and play Letterman again, or even better, and play Conan's show. Also, I know Craig Kilborn is a huge Prince supporter, so there's another option.

i would also love to see prince play letterman or conan... i actually like their shows... i hate jay's show so much, for some reason... so whenever he has a musical guest i want to see, i just watch letterman until leno's musical guest comes on & then switch over...

but craig killborn..?... i don't think prince would ever play killborn's show... does anyone even watch that show..?

The great thing about Conan is that he has no ego about changing the format of the show for major players such as Prince and allowing for 10 or 12 minutes of music. It doesn't happen much, because there aren't that many people who have that type of clout, but it does happen.

He just did this the other night with Bruce Springsteen, and I know Prince and Conan had an agreement a couple years back where he was going to be the musical guest the entire week. Unfortunately Prince backed out.

The extra time would allow him time to get warmed up and throw down a 3-minute guitar solo that would scare the living hell out of those who only know Prince through the gossip columns.

I don't like Jay either, but it seems like Prince really likes him, so good for Prince...he is working with the people he wants to and he is happy.

Jay always seems racist to me...I may be picking up the wrong vibe, but I feel like he brings up racial topics in his jokes and looks at his band leader with that kind of "you're black" look.

I don't like Carson Daly too much, but his show is set up so they can have a musical guest play several songs.

A full week of Prince on Conan would be incredible.
He may have burned that bridge, though.

If you think Jay is racist, then you don't know what you're talking about! He's one of the more "pro-black" people out there. He was the one supporting all of the black comedians a couple of years ago on BET saying that they were way underpaid and such and that they shouldn't take it. Besides, he jokes about EVERYBODY, no matter what race, profession, etc... You were definitely picking up the wrong vibe!
