We all want to see him perform, jump off piano's in 6 inch heels and see his magic the way we know it. Yet everyone comes to a point in their life where importance changes its face. So you start to see the sacrifice in the life you are given which you share with the world, second to your individual sacrifice or journey. People who don't want to take chemo. No pain killers in the late stages of sickness. Pulling the plug or not resuscitating when they go into cardiac arrest. These are signs of a different look at life. The life they once knew and lived has moved onto an acceptance and growth of a different kind.

I remember Bob Marley being asked why he didn't have his toe amputated (which might have allowed him longer to live) when he found out he had cancer growing in his body. Bob said "When I reach Heaven and God asks me why he came back with 9 toes and I gave you 10, what will I say?" (fill in the patois where needed).

um, did I miss something? was there a confirmation of any of this hip business?

This is all troubling. Given the quote used as an example (Marley quote) it just seems such a strong thing to be able to do, to have such faith and trust in what one knows/feels about their higher being.
Yet, I am horrified at the thought of P not having a simple surgery. I mean, God, Allah, Buddha... who ever you believe in allowed these surgeries to be discovered to cure simple problems, he gave us the means to cure simple things so wouldnt he want us to use what he has allowed us? Seems the higher being would not even give us the means to dream up, let alone perform surgeries if he didnt want us to use them? And, the whole blood thing- I know it is an interpretation, and I am not putting anyone's interpretations/beliefs down, but I keep coming back to the thought that no higher being would have given us the brains to even figure out how to perform a surgery to cure something if he didnt want us to use it.
This mention of P using pain pills to try to deal w/ the hip pain, doesnt make sense if he refuses surgery and possible blood transfusions, how can he accept mind/sense altering things such as drugs? Yet, I have been worried about how thin he looks and the strain I see on his face sometimes. Pain can do that to people, make them look more frail and strained, and I pray to my higher being (I say this because I believe there is 1 higher being who presents himself to people in different forms, forms they can accept, and I believe humans have put their own spin on this higher being to fit their needs, and thus we have all these various sects of religion... if you look closely, all religion share some basic concepts- I think it is humans who spun and twisted things to fit thier own needs that really created this separation/sects of religions and we all know the basic truths that are there) that is the case w/ P and that there is not any truth to this talk about pain pills because that would (1) make him a hippocrat, and (2) be very dangerous as pain pills are nothing to mess around with.
I think P is much stronger, wiser and honest than to be refusing surgery on merit of religion/beliefs, yet be taking mind/sense altering drugs.
I don't like to see anyone in pain, and I, personally wish if these hip rumors are true, that he just have the dang surgery and feel better!
